I'm selling my ultra reliable and economical Peugeot 205 1.8 diesel. It isn't the prettiest or tidiest 205 you will see, but mechanically it is excellent. It starts and runs perfectly.
I bought this at the beginning of March as a temporary fix as i'd just got a new job requiring me to commute from Nuneaton to Northampton. I've now bought a slightly newer, better equipped diesel car. It is fantastic on fuel and always does around 60mpg. I will still be using it daily until it is sold, i'm covering around 300 miles a week. In the short time I have had it I have covered around 1,900 miles and it has not skipped a beat.
I put it through an MOT in April and it went through only needing a ball joint dust cover, a wiper blade and new fuel lines, so it has MOT till 3rd April 2014. It also has tax until the end of May 2013. Importantly it had the cambelt, tensioners and waterpump changed at 130,000 miles.
It is very basic - no power steering, manual windows etc, it does have a sunroof though.
The bodywork has a dent/crease on both sides, not sure what from, it isn't too unsightly though as it hasn't gone through the paint. There is a bit of rust inside the drivers door-shut (not mentioned on the MOT), and i'm told the inside of the o/s rear quarter is rusty, but that isn't structural so nothing to worry about really. All four arches seem to be very clean and tidy inside and out.
All four tyres have loads of tread and don't look very old. Interior is in good condition with no tears or stains to the seats. There is no radio fitted at the moment, I will include a CD player that I was going to fit, it just requires an wiring harness to fit - only a few quid on ebay. In typical Peugeot style, there are a few broken bits of trim - passenger door pocket hanging off, drivers door pull surround snapped, also the plastic cover for the fuel filler cap is missing.
The heater works well, as does the rear wiper, unfortunately the windscreen washer jets aren't working right now but i'll look into that. Also, the brakes seem to judder under heavy braking - I think they just need balancing as the previous owner (who did all of the servicing himself) fitted brand new Green Stuff brake pads just before I bought it.
There is one key that is for the ignition and the boot, one key for the doors, and another for the fuel filler cap. Unfortunately the drivers door lock has become detached inside the door, it just needs the door card taking off and sorting. I'll have a go if I get chance. You can still lock the drivers door, but only by locking it from inside and getting out the pasenger door!
Please feel free to come and see for yourself, you are welcome to test drive the car. Call/text me on 07757497050 or message me to arrange.
Open to p/x.
