1995 Ford Mondeo Si - Long MOT - good modern retro car spares or repairs
This car is a real survivor and a rare opportunity to get A very tidy Mk1, along with Si trim, factory sports pack and potentially a powerful engine...
It's a great price as it has recently suffered a head gasket failure, so will need this repairing by a capable mechanic or engine replacement, potential is there for a very fast and tight handling capable smart car, more details below..

Fault: Head Gasket Failure
History:
For a few years this has been my second daily driver since I got it and my summer car while I get the really old cars fixed up, I got it from a colleague who had looked after it since the 90's! I knew it was a good car and hung onto it even though strictly speaking I didn't need it. It was nice to have power and torque on tap again too with this engine delivering 136PS and enough torque to cruise or blast up the steepest hills.
I had planned to sell later this summer after my other daily driver is fixed, and hang onto it as long as poss and improve it as I go. In my ownership I have experienced some power hesitation when going to overtake on motorways and I'd been replacing parts and servicing along the way to help remedy this problem, fuel filter, plugs twice, HT leads, oil, and I even custom rebuilt the exhaust using, a NOS Janspeed back box, and quality Jetex universal parts to link up to that. from the new standard middle exhaust. It ran really good, loads of power, it was just the motorway journey issue, this problem may have been the HG giving in..?. I invested in having the cam belt and water pump done last year to confidently enjoy show season and UK holidays. Since my other car went off road in October I've been using this car daily as my full time car and covered over 7000 miles or so commuting daily and all weekend journeys.
It's recently passed MOT in February, the mechanic fitted 2 new lower arms, which was wearing tyres, so only 3 weeks ago I invested in 2 Brand new mid range Maxxis tyres up front and professional full laser tracking done.
It had a brief wash last Saturday in anticipation of attending a show in Northwich and blew it's head gasket on the way there, and towed back, so is now a non runner.
There's a folder of History/receipts old and new with the car
Spec and details,
It's a good trim level, my favorites are Recaro style (may actually be Recaro knowing Ford) sports seats with wings, very firm and comfy and supportive and a nice colour/design, limited wear no saggy bolsters, only the drivers has a hole caused by a belt keyring.
tilt and open Sunroof, electric front windows, ABS that works perfectly! power steering, Drivers Airbag (fine), Alloy Wheels, Wide (2xNEW!) tyres, sports 'lowered' suspension, and all other mod cons, the interior light and ciggie lighter seem to have blown a fuse mind.
It feels like a quality solid car, and has rewarding sporty handling, great to drive.
Collection:
You WILL need a trailer or truck to tow this away, everything worked fine till the HG fail one week ago, it will not start now.
Conclusion:
LONG MOT! plus A stylish and capable rare car and future classic future retro Fast Ford, that way way way too good to scrap (though that IS my back up plan). I know there are Ford Nuts and retro fans out there who know how good these cars are. It's a bargain project/car for someone, even to buy and get fixed by a mechanic its still a good deal, or drop in a decent 2.0 Zetec from another car, its a good reshell car in that regard, or even build a cheap track car, that'd be cool, or you could make money stripping all the bits and weighing it in! :S Up to you.
I'm looking for a honest QUICK and stress free deal, collection this weekend would be ideal...
Sold as seen.
