I have a week to get this Chrysler back on the road and no way am I going to make it. Blasted damn thing has beaten me again after I spent much of the weekend pigging about with it. Mostly scraping black gunge and slime off stuff as it happens. So I have called my friendly local garage and am awaiting their tow truck to remove said dead Chrysler and then I should hopefully pick it up again next week - running properly! I gosh darn hate having to do this but Em needs the Mazda as of next Monday and its kinda her car so I have to give it back. Oh well, it will cost me money (something else I don't like LOL) but at least it will be done. At this rate it will be April or May before its done with me on the case.

Good on you for putting the effort in. A lot of people wouldn't have.

fair enough, you gotta work out if all your time, and stress is being wasted and a cost that would be better spent doing other stuff, and if the garage can have it done at an affordable rate then fair do's it is your daily driver after all. I just hope they manage to rid all that gunk out and get those nice shiney bits on. I'll be trying this with my first clutch change on the worst car i could of picked (probably) soon, cant afford the garage, but i'll send it down if it doesnt work out for me!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I know the feeling, exact same thing happened to me at the start of Feb. Came home from uni for a week, and gave my self a week (days + nights, I have no other plans!) to replace everything brake related basically. Laying on the drive, in the cold, pouring rain, with a minimal amout of tools and even less expertise..... After three days of the above, I realised it wasn't going to happen, I'd basically got as dar as jacking the car up and taking the wheels off! Needless to say I gave to give the garage a call [ ] Never mind, I got them todo a few other jobs whilst they were at it and it mean I knew the work would be done properly (brakes are fairly important after all!), but still, 'twas a lot of money I didn't really want to spend. Hope they get on alright with it and you get it going again soon!
