Arrggh, When I bagged this I was one of only a few that would of bought it it was a select sale or break up for parts job. I knew i'd contact the builder if I ever got short of dosh or change of mind, but he asked me if I still wanted it and offered to buy back! Arrrghh Now I don't think I do, and i'm currently working upto shifting a few and knuckling down, and getting those bits bought and fitted. and I have it worked out, just need dosh and time as usual. summat to think about though as it would provide much money towards something like this alternatively the money would not stretch to a mk2 turbo install in the MR2 proj, so not too interested in that right now as thats gonna be a Size ZERO ligtweight 4age screamer! carry on regardless with teh sierra V8 i'm feeling, what would you's do?

Divest yourself of all other automotive detritous. Do not be distracted by Toyotat. Sell toyotas. Sell cortina. Sell crud sierra. If necessary purchase cheap and horrid thing for masochistic everyday duites that will spur you into putting your efforts into the V8. Get it done, as this is gonna be one hella cool car when it's finished. If you cannot follow this plan, you might as well sell it. Let someone else make the best of it.

You could keep Saph as daily driver while selling everything else, MR2s and Cortinas don't usually struggle to find homes.

Yep, thats my thought too now, when I bought it it was a compromise, a bit too new but a well installed meaty package. but now I have grown to love old sierras, probs too much! I did get seriously sidetracked last year. recognis that. Plan is to sell sapph and white MR2 before peak summer, and release some £££'s and spare time. get the 'Tina basic road worthy (its not mine but I can use it, get GF her licence and free up taxi duties) dead cheap on insurance too . silver toyota on back burner and batter on with the V8 W00T A trans am would be nice, but it can wait I think

Cheers for input putting mind at rest BTW. I do have the powers to get this done, hopefully up to the same standard as the builder (just a lot slower). Biggest thing will be putting my mark on it, all my full on reanmation plans are a bit OTT so I will have to live with the builders sleeper intention for now, which I d quite like... As for the builder, he has enough toys + a new 200+ BHP SD1 lump that may be finding its way into some V8RiceMike type J retro, full report in the future

Embarrassingly, only a finish up, custom radiator, exhaust system, clocks connecting up etc, serious stick beating on the front end, new dash being fitted, a few body tweeks, and a mega waxoyling, modern locks, some more security! etc I'm beating myself up a bit about it now, I'll see if I can make it to RRS '07 most my research is done anyway, So any takers for an economical Sapphire and a sporty little T top?

Sometimes it takes something like an offer on a project to bump start the mojo and make you decide there and then weather its something you want to carry on with! I deffo vote keep it, get her sorted (easy for me to say sitting here! ) and rumble up to RRS '07 in it, by whatever means neccesary!

flog em all bar the tina as you can always put a v8 in there
buy summat ya really want rather than spreading money between 5 projects
but if you need both of those then they don't get anywhere and not doing things to them means they get decrepid and unloved and better to move on

yopu must do one at a time. sell any you can live without, and make happen the ones you cant live without. stand up, walk outside, get it done in the cold/rain/miserableness. mojo is a fine thing but sometimes plugging is what's required. says he who has abandoned the rapid cuz of two seized bolts :s

Get everything else flogged, concentrate on the V8 and buy a £70 Primera or something equally tatty to smoke around in until the V8 is finished.

yep its all under contol thats why I spent friday, saturday, and a bit of sunday tidying the sapph, getting it ready for private ads and not so private ones. as well as the evenings last week banishing some lingering O/T other tasks and checking out all the water in the boot of the corty, see my other thread on page 2 or 3. some scatterings of days off are being put to good use. got insurance on white MR2 till summer so keeping that till CARS, then selling with 12 months MOT with hopefully blazing (squad) sunshine. then on with the V8 (maybe in time for RRS '07. Its gonna be ace, watch this space.... I have learnt a fair bit hands on over the past year or two and i'm really happy about that

Sell the sapphire to therealslimehairnetttyy fella for well over the odds and use that money to get a rad for the 3 door. Get the tina running and bang it in for test. Sort the silver mr2 out and weigh in the remains of the white one. Mr2 as your daily, `tina for your lass and V8 3 door for weekends. Job sorted ;D

yep, I almost forgot about the 3 house moves last year (plus month of half homelessness) too which was unavoidable on all counts. ;D move in 2 delivery one finally put to bed away from elements. needs must Towed by cavmad and moved by Transit Hmm not the best year for productivity , light at the end of the tunnel though. And the White Mr2 is ok now with its new bits and pieces, be even better with its new clutch and matching panels, its not a scrapper! i'm gonna be a busy bee for a bit.
