	Hi Guys Found this at the side of the road today for sale. It says recently serviced and mot`d till may 07 £450.00 It looks like it`s been sitting for ages(flat rear tyre,mould on the interior)so reckon i could get it cheaper, I`ve always been into small fwd cars but something about this black bruiser makes me want it. I know nothing about it can anyone help with model type etc. What would it be like to live with,parts prices/avaliability etc. Cheers Adrian P.p.s Is it just going to be a big moneypit?

	its a w201, known to the masses as a 190. could have anything in it from a derv lump, or something between 1.8 - 2.6. bit vague, but hth. not my personal fave from the merc stable, but id have one of these in a crack.

	it should get cheaper than 450 - these 190's don't fetch much - and this ones a bit old - look on ebay -you cant give 190 's away

	I quite like 190's. Parts shouldn't be too bad from Eurocar parts, GSF etc. Doesn't look too bad, and it has Pentas on which are nice. Just needs hitting with the stick. Check arches and doors bottoms etc for rust as well as normal places. The rear arches don't look too bad though. It would need to be cheaper than that to be worth a chance on for me though. Give them a ring and go have a better look.

	Yea there was an auto 1.8 (egads) green one for 100 quid with 4 weeks T&T down the road from me Was quite tempted, could probably shoehorn it through an MOT without too much trouble around here If it's mouldy inside that means it's damp in there and water is getting in, so I would be dubious. These 190s can rot like utter barstewards ;D

	dunno about the not worth much thing? it seems that they are good to export and usually fetch 300 to 350 no mater what..! look at a comparable 2l sierra of that year for 50 quid! or even a e30 bemmer. cupple hundred usually... although they seem to be becomming a bit collectable/sought after now?! but whatever bits are cheep as any ford thanks to places like "eurocarparts" etc not that they ever wear out of coarse!! they handle very well as std and (apparently) a v8merc conversion is easy (arnt they all that one reads about!) the most reliable in a "turn the key and drive for years without ever servicing" kind of way.... the 2l is a bit slow though! si
