No worries, its been so raped with ill-shaped metal bits that its kind of a child born out of wedlock between the two (with some volvo thrown in )

The orange hatch in MadMaxx's second batch of photos isn't a GSI of course, but an earlier car (note the 2 slot grill). Anyway, my favourite modified Manta B has to be this one. Both photos blatantly nicked from www.mantaclub.org

I can never decide whether I prefer Manta Bs in hatch or booted form... But...Always without arches. With the arches gently pulled/rolled = win. *n

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

That car you have quoted, same tyre\wheel combo as mine, does not have modified arches, they accept quite wide wheels with original arches, i have heard 215\45 tyres on 9x16 et 25 wheels mentioned, with 60mm lowering and no rub Oh, and those chrome arch trims bolts on to the "fold-in" piece, meaning that if you want to keep them, no rolling

I reckon your's is spot on! I prefer my B's in early style with chrome bumpers on them, and I like the Berlinetta look with vinyl roof and the tinted windows. I will have one some day, already had an A so a B obviously has to be next. My thought on Penski's query is that the only model that works in 3dr form is facelift non-GTE models - with their skinny wheels the 2dr body looks a bit weak IMO. For all other versions the 2dr is better. The only picture I can offer is this wrecked one which sat outside college back in 1992/93, it was there for ages.

Dual lamp headlights are Manta 400 replicas, or genuine 400 headlights I think they came as standard on the later GSi mantas.. The square ones are standard. The oldest square light ones had a metal wraparound, like this one has: You can just make it out, you see a crack between the metal wraparound and the hood. Any manta b can be made a single lamp, and vice versa Bolt on stuff You can tell the age (if frontend hasnt been replaced) by looking at the number of "nostrils" in the grille, they had 2 up to 1980, and 4 after that, but there could be some models with 4 before 1980, I don't know EVERYTHING about them, far from it Oh, yeah, did I mention bloody EVERYONE wants the dual rounds? So it would be REAL easy to get some square ones if you get a quad one, might even make a few quid ;D
