Ok, Picked up some new rims for a great price. They are 17 x 6.5. I want to fit either 205 40 or 45's, or possibly 215 40 or 45's. Any of those will be close enough regarding speedo etc, just not sure as the rims are 6.5 rather than 7 inch and I've had conflicting opinions. Advice please??

I`d go 195 on a 6.5" rim 205 will be a bit ballooned I think

They are Mazda OE rims. Original size on them was 205/ 50, but that would be too tall and would possible catch the spring seat.

as you go down in profile it is harder to make the sidewalls flex to take up any difference in treadwidth to rim so they need to be more closely matched. If in doubt check the tyre manufacturers websites they have recommended rim sizes for different tyres.
