I always look forward to Cholmondeley Castle show, for the last 6 or so years it has been THE start to my show season, always an impressive (and year on year growing) turnout by us Autsoshite/HBF/AutoExcretia types, and an equally impressive selection throughout the show.
So I took the news that the show wasn't to be held at Cholmondeley with some trepidation, however, my fears melted away as we arrived and saw the grounds, it really is a pretty darn perfect venue for this sort of gig. I would go so far as to say, if they decide to keep it at Arley I'd be quite chuffed....
Anyway, I get ahead of myself, let me make with the pictures.
Spotted on the M6 about 5miles north of Lymm, I sensed we were growing close....
We arrived at Lymm in the Oxford in plenty of time as we did without the usual getting lost drama. At first I assumed the smattering of extreamly tidy Fords were with us, I should've known better.
So after the tidy Fords upped an left, I took a cheeky shot of the Oxford and set about capturing our little lot.
I couldn't have planned a more opportune time for a big yellow taxi to arrive....
SUPAKOOL old chap and his Mk3 Supra (on SUPASHIT wheels)
After a brew and a natter it was time to trundle the 5 or so miles to Arley Hall itself (abit easier to stay together than the 40minutes we usually travel to Cholmondeley)
So, we got parked up, said 'howdo' to those already on the stand, then proceeded to have a bumble about in awe of the rarities on display...
Austrailian Import Vauxhall Ute, one of 4 in the country. We chatted to the owner who also has a Wyvern Ute.
Velox estate must be one of only a handful?
I've seen this at a few shows over the years (stating at RRG07)

Big Z car
Snooty
I'm always amazed by how utterly tiny these are
Seth-spec
This was unusual, heck, I didn't even realise such a thing existed.
I got pictures of this last year. The wheels still offend me, luckily you can't see much of them.
A pair of Brit-Rods with a '70s vibe

I still struggle to grasp that RO80's are as old as they are. This is the same reg as escRot,
Generally not a fan of red cars, this was nice though
From here on out I was struggling to keep the rain of the lens, meaning there are some 'spoiled' photos.
My actual 'take home' car. Simply astounding
I think the was actually small block powered and a Malibu rather than a 454ci Chevelle,
Where would you even find a bodykit like this for a 309? Apart from the '80s?
I would love a Sapphire Cosworth one day, though I suspect they will forever be out of my pricerange
Bit 'rally slag' for my liking, quality colour though
Impressive display of Triumphs
The distant Beat...
As much as I hate the mentality that seems to go hand in hand with owning type2 VW's, they do have an appeal.
Land Lobster
Some TR love from the stand behind ours
I would have one of these, almost as much as I'd like a Cosworth infact.
GTE was FRESH
I bet that is lively
YAWN
Now, I don't want to burn any bridges here, but I have a confession to make to you all...... I actually quite like this.
a final few pictures from the stand
Then, due to the attrocious weather, James and I hoped in the Oxford and made our escape, but not before having a good at getting some 'arty' shots of the Oxford.
