Just picked this thread again, and not had time to read up from where I left off, and it still makes me smile, I have a question about your prop, what pinion angle are you running? I never run more than 4deg down from the gearbox flange, you like you are running a lot more? Photo makes it look really bad, I measured the gearbox end angle and set the same on the axle but I can't remember what it was now

Today I got new wiper blades and a piece of plastic mirror as interior mirror is broken. Got the handbrake cable fitted and working, then started on the exhaust. The original exhaust back box was smashed by the propshaft hitting it, I hot given a twin exit box but didn't like it and it was way to big. So I cut it in half and shrank it down. Welded quite well, my mig is still on 1mm wire and turned all the way down it was still a little to much, but I didn't want to buy and swap the reel to do this. This is the complete exhaust, just put a tip on the end to aim it out the side After this I ran supply wire to the fuel pump, put some fuel in and primed the fuel system. Battery is too flat to start it so it's now on charge. Tomorrow I am going to bleed the brakes and hopefully get it running, then I need to look at the heater fan and get coolant in it. Then it's ready to sort out getting it on the road, going to get a few miles under it and then do front brake upgrade, oil and filter change and a timing belt kit.

Yesterday I bled the brakes only to find the bias valve is leaking, so I got a little upset about that. Also found out the battery was had it, so a quick ebay search £29 with a years warranty. Today the battery turned up so I pressed the under bonnet start button and it struck straight up. www.dropbox.com/s/6dq0qi3ddv1dou2/VID-20200130-WA0001.mp4?dl=0Going to bypass the bias valve tomorrow until a new one arrives at least then i can turn it around under it's own steam and finish the last bit of welding

The ten made it 60 miles before it broke photo sharingThe rivets broke and I don't really know why. Will get another plate and see what happens, I did adjust the clutch too much and it jammed on a few times so that may be the cause. But I'm taking out recovery just Incase

Would it be worth welding a couple of straps round the top of the transmission tunnel - maybe a bolt on one under...just in case?

Thats a pain.
Such failures are usually either the clutch damper design simply not being up to the job or misalignment, does it have a pilot bearing?

It has a brass insert in the crank so should stay aligned. Going to pull the engine and double check everything

After a lot of head scratching, the only thing I can think of is when the prop came off it the whip has pulled the rivets through the plate. I didn't even think to check the clutch and I think they have slowly worked there way out, which would make sense why I had to keep adjusting the clutch.
New clutch is now fitted and I am just waiting on a water housing coming as mine has a crack in it and started leaking, quite a common fault on this engine from what I have read

Have you put together an ad for the for sale board yet? I'd be interested if it wasn't for the Bond

The drive went well from Sunderland to West lothian we had to pump the brakes a few times in order to stop and adjust the throttle cable and stated to loose clutch about half an hour from home I think the cable is stretched and the clutch needs bled

Adrian Flux were messing me around with breakdown last year as well. Seems a common issue. I've been well put off using their services since and they charged me a lot for my policy as well. Doubt I'll be using them again.
