Hi All,
i bought a car off of ebay (i know, i know.) the seller seemed genuine enough and nothing suspect about him at all. i , stupidly, drove off without the log book, all i have is the green slip (new keepers supplement), to be honest the guy met me at the train station in the car and told me he had forgotten to bring the log book with him, he made a note of my name and address and said he would sent it off to DVLA. on driving the car home, (stoke on trent back to london) i thought i heard what sounded like a wheel bearing noise, i took it to my mechanic mate who diagnosed the noise as an gearbox input shaft bearing knackered, he said that the bearing could last for years or a few days....he couldn't say for sure. so i called the bloke i bought the car off and i had a bit of a moan about the car, he apologised and said that he hadn't noticed any noise....anyway i bought the car on the 26th april and here we are on the 8th may and i still don't have a new log book in my name, so my question is, is this normal to wait this long, and can i make enquiries about the log book to DVLA myself?
thanks for all and any answers
