Cheers dude! Anyone got some tyre recommendations for 13s? It was the driving factor in my looking for some 15s earlier on - couldn't seemt o find anything at the right kind of quality/ price trade-off.
Ideally between 185 and 205, around a 60 profile?

I was going to suggest Northhants tyres, but it looks like they only do real tires in 14 inch and up...

www.midlandwheels.com/Shop/C-52-13.html Probably toyos your best bet . Yoko's are good but you will chew through them fast . I would see what the escort boys use , they will know what are good but reasonably priced. Love the car - so bad !!!

Nice one, cheers for that! Think i'll still be running these 'til they're bald though haha, need to scrape some serious cash together for the next part of the Capri's life.
Also may need some storage for it after a chat with mother dearest, if anyone knows of anything around Essex, Sussex, or anything in between, hit me up.

Way ahead of you Fortunately/ unfortunately, depending on what way you look at it, the current tyres are some god awful 'Securon' bargain-basement jobbies. Wet grip is an issue, but the hard compound does seem to tolerate my heavy right foot surprisingly well.

Shame i didn't see those tyres 'til after they'd ended GREAT NEWS! Got another year's ticket today One advisory which was slight play in front wheel bearings, more than expected with new hubs bedding in. Even excelled it's emissions, allow 4.50% CO and it returned 0.13%. Take that, Greenpeace. There may have been a total weldathon on saturday, but i'll update you on that tomorrow when i'm not knackered...

Not sure if you are still looking for tyres but I managed to get a pair of Falken Ziex 205/60/13 for £130 fitted! Actually it's a bit less than that as I had all 4 tyres rebalanced too! It may pay to play the fitters off against each other. Otherwise try here and get them fitted locally. Camskill Tyres

Nice one, will check them out. I've been promised a set of tyres on test through PH, just waiting to see who wants to get involved - seems bloody hard finding decent 13"s at the moment though! May have to get some bigger wheels on...

I think you might be right! We'll see if anything comes from the freebies first, but I may jump on those anyway. Anyone going Classic Ford this weekend? I'm on the Flux stand, so come and say hello if you see me (look for the guy with his hair tied up on top of his head) If i'm not then you can take in the SHEER BEAUTY* of the paint up close Looking forward to it, looking forward even more to what my girlfriend makes of the wimminz.

Well, Classic Ford was good fun - car seemed to go down very well (even up next to a gorgeous stripped-out race Capri with an SR20DET in it...) Mine was lower though so we all know who won that game Even had a guy offer me some very strong money for it, hard to turn down but i'm not *quite* done with it yet, and besides - the guy who owns my dad's X-Pack isn't ready to sell it yet! This has all got me thinking though, where do I go from here? I recently bought some Spax shocks so I can finally fit my Leda single leaves, I might treat it to an LSD rear axle, and that with some eccentric top mounts sees the 'handling' (if you can call it that) improvements done... Naturally, when that's done, I need to make it go faster. As many of you know, i've toyed and toyed with engine transplants and had various conversion bits pass through my hands, but tuning the Essex nicely is really appealing to me now. Nothing crazy, but if I could see 180bhp from it i'd be a very happy boy. I've got some stage one ported and polished heads in the garage, so i'm thinking that those with some bigger valves put it, a Weber 40 DFI feeding them and a nice cam could get me well on my way to the kind of power i'd like. What do the RR mandem reckon? Anyone got any top essex-tuning tips for me? Here's a burnout for your time:

These arrived today! Booked in for fitting wednesday, so i'm quite excited to see what difference they'll make. 185s are looking proper needledick in comparison to the current 205s, so I think I might be needing some spacer action to get it looking alright. I also bought some Spax adjustbles on eBay to finally get my new rear springs on - can anyone from Wigan confirm that "they work fine" actually translates to "they're knackered" up there? Seems to be the case, not impressed. May try and get the re-gassed but it's making a bargain pretty pricey, in addition to the bushes.

I... WANT... YOUR... CAR...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've looked at many 3.0S Capri's over the years and walked away for one reason or another. I completely regret that now I can safely say!
Your car is a real stunner and you are one lucky chap indeed...
If I could say 1 thing it would be "please don't X-Pack it...!" but it's your motor and I'm sure whatever you do it will be done very well indeed...
Keep the updates coming sir...
