	Hi, I need to insure a car for 2 weeks for a road trip with my mate, temp cover seems to be the answer, but sadly none have an option on there websites for people with less than 6 months license, i can add them to the existing policy but it will be far to expensive anyone any suggestions?

	Has your mate a car with insurance in his own name that he could extend the policy to driving yours during the holiday ? IMO it'll be a case of 6 months since passing test so high risk and subsiquently, as you have found out, either difficult or expensive for short term cover. What age is the other driver and what car is the cover required ? Young driver on a "performance" car is going to be more diffiuclt / expensive than a mature person on a base model shopping cart ! What about hiring a car with both of you are named drivers instead of using your own car ? Paul h
