Its come to that time of year where I am starting to think of stickers for the car for Le Mans.... Has anyone got any ideas for stickers / themes? The usual form is to sticker up the car in race livery and you often see cars in GULF colours and that kind of thing...... Will prob go for race numbers and names in windows but apart from that I'm stumped for a theme. Obviously car is black so need to bear that in mind. Want as many stickers as possible in inline with Le Mans tradition whilst attempting to keep a classy look to the car (yes i know its a volvo!! ) Suggestions and photoshops welcomed!! Heres some examples from previous years!! - www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=275857&f=25&h=0&hw=stickersLet your imaginations run wild!!! cheers!

Hmm, tough one... I'm not a fan of race style stickers on non race cars. Just seems like you're trying too hard to me? A bit tragic wannabe. But hey, that's just me so if that's your thing I don't mean anything by it. Names in windows now have too many connections to forums and owners groups, but too clique... Why not look at Volvo racing colour schemes and base something around that, there's a black 3-series in the museum isn't there? Do all the type in Swedish, but use babelfish to translate things like Donkey Kong Racing etc. I've got anderungeng vorbehalten (sp?) written on the back of the buggy, looks official but kind of means 'specification liable to change without prior notice.' Or go pseudo JPS, it's already black... I think whatever you do should be subtle enough to make people do a double take, keep them guessing, is it real or not? Add a novice box to the hatchback (yellow with black cross in it), and some roundels on the door, bonnet and boot offset and crossing body shut lines for the win, in orange or similar colour. But no numbers... Real race cars don't wear numbers on the road. Just my thoughts as everybody else seems to have ignored it, whatever it should be a laugh eh? Then rub the whole lot down with T-Cut to age it.

This might be a bit naff, but the only black race car I can think of is: Use the Texaco font and say something else?

Ha Ha nice one shouldnt take life so seriously mate..... is only for the Le Mans weekend...... if you have been you wll know that its an ancient tradition to cover your car in stickers... the more the better! not gonna be chavving it round the streets with my with it stickered up Cheers for the ideas though..... JPS livery was mentioned on another forum...could maybe go with a slightly altered version of that! TEXACO livery could also be cool ... not sure what the ford boys would think though! Have also contemplated the Silkolene livery as shown here on my Missus's dads old car! .. think he'd proably take the curse word though!!... you might recognise the car ... was fairly legendary! 6r4 Bi turbo.... 800hp - 0-60 2.5 sec

Just had enough of Caterham drivers thinking they're Schumacher with the driving talent of my gran, shouldn't have let my bias get in the way. Oh and I'm no stranger to stickers either (see my buggy below)... ;D Oooh, that wouldn't be Will Gollop's car would it? Is it? Do it! Silkolene, ultimate doff of the cap to old man surely...

Nice buggy mate!!!A friend of mine had one that looked remarkably similar..... Yeah thats Will Gollops car... my likely future father in law! ..... Was a bit of a beasty.... never saw it in the flesh but have watched many videos of it in action... his current Focus ( currently being driven by Andrew Jordan) aint too shy either was running 700hp at one point I believe

Legend. I have the utmost respect for that man and anybody for that matter that can pilot (literally) those machines. Grp Bs loss was their gain. Didn't he have a 309 at one stage? I remember seeing a Silkolene liveried shell in Cornwall three or four years ago and being told it used to be his... Anyway, so, Days of Thunder? You feeling it? Have you seen Talledega Nights? Come on... Oh yeah, and who was your mate with the similar buggy? ;D

one simple mod should make people double take. change your badges to vulva. ;D will gollop, respect. i remember watching him on the telly, then going out on my bike and pretending to be him. i think i saw him race at croft in the early 90s. next time you see him, tell him i said he should have run martin schanke over. ;D on a related note, i used to work with a woman who used to help pat dorans wife make the tea and butties at the meets.
