basically i put a hole in my sump of my daily golf on saturday in Derbyshire - because of a road that is badly damaged
has anyone had pothole damage and made a claim?
is it worth it?
should I just sort it myself and chalk it up to experince?

They will probably try and squirm out of it. a friend tried and the hole has to have already been reported, if it's not they won't take responsibility.
Our local council would also not pay out on quotes, you had to get the work done first.
That's risky as you could pay well over the odds for the garage to do it then the council still not pay out!

that's my problem they said it could take up to 8 weeks to get an answer and the quote I have had from VW to change the sump is £400 plus the £100 i paid on saturday to get the golf home
the road is apparently a grey area but they have been warned about it by locals

I took a shed load of photos at the time, i need the council to be more specific on what to do other than fill in a form
