COuld there be a Japanese-Car-Made-in-America factory nearby perhaps? That could lead to a local loyalty? Or is that where the Weld factory is and they just look cool on Toyotas so all the local owners buy 'em? Ace rides

Actually, delving a bit deeper revealed similar groups dotted around America. Some very cool cars as it happens...you can spend quite a long time trawling the links pages!

That's a nice fresh look, looks like they're modelled off the style preferred by the Puerto Rican doorslammer type drag cars.
I LUURRRVE that tubbed KE70 2dr sedan especially.
Has anyone else noticed that modified smaller, older Toyota's seem almost exclusively the domain of folk of Asian or South American descent in the US?

"Almost exclusively" might be going a bit too far, but yes. I have a few mates of Central-American origin and their dads are dead into smaller Japanese cars of a retro persuasion. That green hatch is awesome.
