I have no garage or driveway, and am considering a car cover. What are the legalities of using a cover for a car parked on the street? Obviously the reg. and the tax disc would be obscured, so I wondered if the authorities might kick up a fuss.

I think you can get them that have windows for the reg plates and tax discs for exactly this purpose. Depending on where you live you may find the authorities kick up a fuss and if the tax disc is covered and not visible then it is illegal as you must clearly display a valid tax disc all the time the car is on the road.

Hi, I don't know what sort of area you live in, but you are making it different. You might find that the local proletariat will think it highly amusing to interfere with it on the way back from the pub.

That's a good point. The area isn't the best, but still relatively quiet with not much in the way of car crime. Thing is, the car it's intended for is quite unusual, and would probably attract attention anyway.
