here my new project car
mk3 ford capri (was a 2.0s auto) rolling shell no engine or box or interior not much really just a few bits in a box (tail lights headlights grill doors glass tail gate bonnet and lots of rust and pretty much no floors or outer sills) was white but changed that straight away to matt black primer with a roller (the white paint was to far gone and loads of rust dents that and I don't care to much for white). so matt black for now and for a while and gloss black some day...
ebay ads (i can see why a lot of people would of been put off it but I am a welder fabricator and I work in a sheet metal shop )
anyway got it home and its a lot worse than these ebay ads show but I didnt care I knew it would be bodges on bodges on bodges so I just thought "lets tear it apart" and undo any repairs/bodges that have ever been done since 1984... and i've restored a few old cars (a classic mini a bay window camper to name a few and nothing could be worse than my rust box 1st car the mini) heres a close up of the floors state but the inner sills have been plated which has lead to rust they patched and didnt remove has rotted the outer sills and under side directly under the inner sill patches when they replaced the inner sill/door steps at some point so its all got to come off.
the white paintwork and body/wings and overall condition is ruined so bring on the paint (a. fav colour and b. I like the ratrod/murdered out look) matt black primer
I can bare to look at it now
I tracked down a v8 so I chopped off the front panel so the engine can swing in the front nice and easy. the front panel will be removable and there will be a length of cds/roll cage tube bolted in as a brace behind the panel
picking it up from the coast
its a full engine starter loom ecu's gearbox etc I also got the clocks and key (sadly after knowing more now at the time I didnt get the ews and ignition ring but I have reseached it alot and I know what I need to do to get it to fire on the original ecu setup well pretty much)
so plans are to restore the body and brace it for the v8.
fit and wire engine
upgrade brakes all round (currently drums all round lol)
upgrade rear suspension to 4 link and pan hard rod on rear and front coilovers (lower it as much as humanly possible as in more than just 2" lowering blocks and a little bit shorter springs up front)
get it mot'd and set it up for drag racing and slowly make it my daily driver.
but yeah that'll do for now hi everyone i'm mattt

which I am selling soon to make way for my next project mk3 golf vento not a very good pic of it (sat on my drive atm awaiting mot and the wheels need repolishing)

and my mk2 ghetto gti before that
