Got rumbled today my the missus about to buy these on the bay.... . Needless to say she went completely spazz, and no amount of reasoning would sway her. Looks like I'll be living with the BBS rims a while longer then...

Nevermind Nick. We all get caught out once in a while ;D ;D You buy something & fit it & for once she takes notice of it....... She's at cashpoint / online banking & checks the balance to notice a payment to Burtons or Hoopers.... Then there's the credit card bill she see's or opens by mistake.....[we're both L. Ratcliffe].

I wouldn't mind so much, but she went out and bought herself a new CD multi-changer for the Astra yesterday....guess who spent an hour fannying about on their hands and knees struggling with flimsy plastic trim putting it in...

Bad luck Nick. It always pays to come clean - well at least with 75% of your purchases, that way a few extras can slip through the net undetected. Rules for a quiet life: 1. Never share your passwords 2. Only one key for the garage (on my keyring) 3. Have parts etc posted to work instead of home. I used to hide things in my wardrobe from an ex who was a bit of a nightmare when it came to spending (my own) cash on the car. Got a bit much when I had a whole Jetex stainless exhaust system in bits on the top shelf hidden by jumpers! ;D My wife to be is a lot more understanding and as long as the bills are paid the rest is our own, to do with what we wish. (Usual unwritten rules apply!! )

Unfortunately, the auction ended Sunday lunch-time -she'd come to find out why I wasn't making the gravy for the roast, as I was supposed to be doing....DOH!

Those wheels are pretty funky,.. shame you missed out on them,.. they would certainly look good on your car.... but you'd need to lower it even more

Those wheels are pretty funky,.. shame you missed out on them,.. they would certainly look good on your car.... but you'd need to lower it even more Don't worry, it's all in the pipe-line! I've got two options, really: 1. I can get a spring & damper kit that will drop the car 60mm at the front and 40mm at the back, which will give the car a mean-as-f**k stance, but I'm a bit worried that this will be a bit too much: I'm a sucker for comfort and don't want my moonlight blats down to London to be giving me a bad back... 2. There's also a kit that does a 35mm drop all round. Ok so it won't look as nice and will not be quite so sharp, but at least it won't be scraping on the ground and crashing over pot-holes too much. This is the most likely option for me..... I can get either of these via my dad's shop, so 'er indoors will never know, with a bit of luck!! It was a shame to miss out on the wheels, as if I get them brand new, they're gonna come in at well over £500 with rubber, and that's with a sizeable discount...these went for £290 in the end, & I'd have happily gone to £300, maybe a bit more.
