So for once actually out with the spanners etc.
The ZS now sits on a rear set of DeCarbon tarmac dampers and springs and front PTS tarmac dampers and springs. You can't tell as the ride hight remains the same ( ) but there is now NO movement in the suspension.
The old useless standard exhaust came off and the group B 4 branch manifold an system (eventually) fitted on. Result the Webers can now breathe properly and the engine revs much better with the car not running out of puff at 90mph anymore. There also seems to be loads more power overall. The suspension is the nuts and the car handles like a go-cart, completely flat, though it is quite harsh.
The result of a days weekend labour, a car that is totally transformed. On the lanes around here my Golf GTi turbo wouldn't stand a cats chance of catching it, neither did the Alfa 156 twin spark that had a good go!!
Next week, on with the group B vented front discs, four pot claipers and the group B engine mounts.
It's what retro motoring is ALL about. I love it!
Would load up a few pics but it all looks the same as before. The exhaust isn't a big bad huge pipe (no need) so it all looks very normal. A total sleeper in fact. I'm off to annoy the local Saxo crew now
;D ;D ;D
