My wife changed jobs and the commute is longer. As a result, we are selling our Z3 and have bought a golf TDI.
Model: BMW Z3, 1.9l 16v, 140bhp, 5 speed, giving a consistent 36 mpg
Year: Feb 1999
Mileage: nearly 140 000, FSH
Tax: 08/2013
MOT: 16/05/2013 but will be supplied with 12 months
Pics:
Location: 15 minutes north of Newark on Trent, Notts NG23
We owned the car since November 2009: it had in our ownership a new catalyst, exhaust, pirelli p7 tyres all round (113000 miles) with rears new at 132000 miles, front brake disks and pads, rear pads, 2 rear road springs, new battery, outside mirrors replaced and repainted, serviced with BMW independent specialist as prescribed in service schedule.
We knew the 2 previous owners, as they are both teachers as is my wife.
It comes with Full service history, has optionally
-Black leather electric sport seats,
-M sport leather steering wheel + gearknob,
-radio/CD/MP3/SD memory card function (original BMW business Radio/cassette supplied)
-bmw penta 5 star alloys in good condition:
Standard the car has
-Power steering/mirrors/windows,
-ABS
-ACT
-Nice handling chassis based on the E30, so without traction control it is very old school ;D
The black roof is manual and in great condition, rear plastic window also replaced and in great condition
Performance wise, it is not a firecracker. 0-62 mph is 9,5 seconds and a top of 125mph. The flipside of the coin is that it consumes a very reasonable 36mpg.
We loved it, but this winter my wife used a 5 series as we didn't want to ruin the z.
Issues: well, a few obviously. The front bumper and bonnet has stonechips, commensurate with having done 140 000 miles.
There is a scuff on the left side of the front bumper
The passenger mirror has paint flaws and scratches due to scraping against that same very wall
There are a number of scratches and swirlmarks
There is bubbling starting (but it is minimal- I am hyper critical)
-drivers side front wing (panel can be unbolted)
-sills
-rear wheel arch drivers and passengers side
-passengers side front wing panel
-the metal part of roof, where the catch bolts to the front window, has chips in the black crackling paint chipped.
We have a lever arch file of all bills since 2001 onwards, with all the books, manuals, folders and accessory brochure. We only have 1 key though.
If you are thinking about an MBG or a mazda MX5, do consider our car!
