I have a 1996 Peugeot 406 1.9TD with a Bosch fuel pump. Recently, the engine tickover has increased to around 1000 rpm. When cold it's 900-950 and then gradually goes up to 1000 rpm. I've tried to adjust it using the screw stop on the back of the pump but it's seized. Now I'm wondering why the tickover has gone up. Could it be anything to do with running 50-50 veg oil?
Short of taking a file to the end of the idle screw, are there any other things I should be looking at? I had a similar problem with my old 205 and it turned out to be the fast idle thing for cold starts that had jammed. I just slackened off the bolt and disconnected the cable but can't see any extra cable on the 406 fuel pump.
Thanks.
