What do you mean by rubbish?
If you mean long/squashy pedal then either you've not managed to get all the air out or there is a mismatch between the master cylinder and the calipers (need bigger displacement M/C)
If you mean that the pedal feels high and hard but you need large effort to stop then I'd be wondering about whether the servo is doing its job (pump pedal 10 times with engine off then, with foot on the brake pedal, start the engine - you should feel the pedal sink slightly as the servo does its bit). Alternatively you might have a M/C to caliper mismatch in the other direction (need smaller displacement M/C).
If the pedal feels normal but the thing just doesn't stop then may be crappy pads. I never had and EBC product I liked but Yellow stuff shouldn't be totally useless from cold..... Need to get out there and get them hot and see if things improve.
