it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I'm not sure why you would need to change the inner wings etc as the Cross member ofr say a 2.8 would allow a 2.8xr4x4 to bolt straight in surely? The Running gear is mainly supported by the sump and the struts (also swapped from the donor XR) or am i missing something major? (been a while since i saw underneath an XR Sierra!

there's a right rough bright orange 4x4 capri running about round here, seriously blacked out windows, looks awful, i know the owner, used to work at one of the local scrappies. he's planning a stretched limo capri next.

I think it's all to do with the front prop out the transfer box to the front diff. Not sure. I would also guess that when you put a YB in the Capri the turbo and downpipe might foul the inner wing on the drivers side.

true.. but if only going for a 2.9 24V at most, then in theory it might work..
Am going to see if i can find some pics of teh 4x4 system from underneath to get a better idea.

Oh.....kayyyyyye! there was one I think only as a special Fordie thing, Ferguson enhgineerd thingie. Ford campaigned the 3-litre Capri in Rallycross in about 1970, which was fitted with the Ferguson 4WD system as fitted to some special police-spec Zephyr Mk4's at the time. Think they were later fitted with an experimental fuel injection as well, but the whole project wasn't a great success They were driven by Roger Clark and his brother Stan. Can't find a pic of it other than a Corgi model!!!
