I need to cut the fleet down
Mk3 Golf GTI on an 'R' plate, in what I think is the best colour/wheel combination on these. Has 124k on the clock, which I believe to be genuine. Body work is good, without the usual laquer peel these suffer from, and with only 2 rusty scabs visible, one is smaller than a 5p on the passengers door, and the other is on the rear passengers door, just in the window recess, although this has now holed through. Has a nice aftermarket exhaust.
The interior is very tidy, and the car has A/C, electric windows all round, and cloth upholstery. The drivers door glass is held up with two wedges at the moment, the lifter cables have gone, which is a common fault on these. I have a new mech for it which I will fit if I get time, if not I will include it with the car. The n/s/r mech has also recently gone. It is fitted with a Toad alarm, and I have two keys and two alarm fobs for the car.
Ive replaced a gearbox mount,a crank sensor and serviced the car since i've had it. Could probably do with a water temp sensor as every now and then it stutters, but again this hasnt got any worse in my ownership and is a very common fault on these.
One tyre is on the limit and will need replacing soon, and there is a rumble coming from the front- I thought it was a wheel bearing but there doesn't seem to be any play. There is no play in the CV joints, so it could be a gearbox bearing, but it hasn't got any worse in the time I've had it- about 8/9 months and 9k miles ish. I'm doing a 100 mile a day commute in it with no issues, and the mfa is showing over 40mpg.
The car is taxed to end of 08/13, and MOT'd to July 2013. Still polishes up well and looks respectable.
Car is in Brighton-£350 takes it away. No offers, it would break for more but I havent got the time or space to do it.
This has now holed through.
Nasty gearknob has been replaced with a stock one.
