Model: Mg Montego 2.0efi Year: 1989 Mileage: 79980 - but this will rise Tax: 31st August 2013 MOT: 16th July 2013 Location: Hull, East Yorkshire Price: £1795 Afternoon, I love this car to bits and it has been a pleasure to own and drive - but the time has come for me to try something else. She was restored in 2003 by the PO and she was done to a nice standard and she is ageing very well. I thought that she was standard but I have been told by the spotters that she is slightly off standard. BUT this is only to the tune of the tinted windows, the wood effect trim inside and the rubbing strips on the bumpers should be white. The pictures were taken a couple of months ago, but the only change is there is a bit more bubbling on the NSR wheel arch. Bad points....and the list is short!!! OSR door doesn't lock or unlock on the central locking Rust is starting to bubble in a couple of places, but nothing major The heater blower has stopped working on all speeds A little bit of dash lift above the binnacle Steering cowl is loose - the car was stolen recovered a few years ago (not sure if recorded) Viewing is no problem in the evenings/weekend. I am off work ill until Tuesday - I will try and get some better pictures if I can, if not then it will be next weekend. I aren't sure if I have priced it right as there is simply nothing for me to compare it to!!!!

I was always bound to forget things.....! lol
Bad - there is a chip in the windscreen that it passed MOT with last time.
Good - It comes with the following spares: 2 brand new, never fitted rear wheel arches. 2 second hand front wings. Spare headlights and spare new wing mirrors, but i can't remember how many of each.
The price is negotiable before it goes on eBay - next weekend at the latest. I am also open to swaps for something interesting or fast or LandRover/RR - not wanting any projects though.

So where am i going wrong?
I know i am biased, but i think it's a lot of car and a lot of fun for the money, or is there nobody else that feels the love for these?
I couldn't tell you the last time an MG Montego appeared on eBay - plenty of Maestro's but not no Montego's...... However - a Montego Turbo has just appeared!!!!! It's a lot cheaper than mine, but for a very good reason!!! I'm not one to slate someone elses car, but it has not stood the test of time well at all!!
Thoughts please :-)

I got let down on a sale and i have already put a deposit on my next car so i have dropped the price to £1600.
I took a load more pictures today ready for eBay, so if anyone would like any more pictures then send me your email address.

I'd love this car robbie, As soon as i sell my mk2 1600 ghia (in mint condition) and two other cars I will contact you. Always loved these montegos ever since I went 125mph as a passenger when I was 16 and boy did I bob myself, bearing in mind that at the time the turbo was the fastest production car around!!!
Don't suppose you could magically make this a turbo could you??? LOLOL

If it aint broke, take it apart and find out why!!

I shall hold off putting it on the dreaded eBay for a week or so then. You aren't the first person to want to make it a turbo, but it's far too original to make such a drastic modification.

Agreed. That's far too good to be butchered around with.
Have another bump for a stunning and now sadly, rare car !!
