You know, the one that you hook up to your spare tyre. Are they any good?
The Benz failed it's MOT on 3 brake hoses and it looks like one of those kits would make my life a whole lot easier!

Very good IMHO - just stick to the guidelines on tyre pressure before starting 15 psi good - 30 psi NOT twice as good!!!

Yeah, I got one and have used it a couple of times. Just make sure you use absolutley the right cap for your master cylinder or you'll end up with brake fluid everywhere

They are as good as you can get without pro kit in my experience. Try and get an old stock one in the larger box with instructions and better quality caps. The new ones aren't quite as good, although in all fairness they are only really designed to be used a few times. Mine usually last a couple of years of heavy use

Good enough for me! I just hope that they do the right cap for my car. Interestingly, I found instructions for a home-brewed pressure bleeding kit here. But I can't see a kit being all that pricey.

I bought one years ago but didnt have a lot of luck with it. Mainly (as Seth has already said) down to not having the correct adaptors for the reservoirs. I also found it can be a bit awkward (actually impossible) to bleed some systems particulary the rear brakes if there is any form of proportional valve or a hydraulic handbrake. Systems like that I prefer two man bleeding, or actually one man and one wife much better results I used to know a bloke made his own vacuum bleeder from a windscreen washer pump and hose connected to each bleed nipple in turn, used to say it was great. Never tried it myself though.

I've got one, it's great - it's been used on everything from a Renault 4 to my Merc 420SEL. Mine's about 20 or so years old now, my dad bought it - still has the original price sticker on it, £3!

I could never get one of them to fit my MC. I either use the pnon-return valve in a jam jar style ones or I have one which hooks up to my compressor

I would get her to help but A) By the time she gets home it's dark, and B) I like working on my car in peace, and I can imagine a constant stream of "is it done now?" "Is that enough?" "My leg hurts..." ;D The fail sheet wasn't that bad. Brake hoses are the only real PITA. I could have put money on him failing them, as he failed both my Volvo and Sal's Golf on the same things. Maybe he has shares in Lockheed or something... ;D

Went Halves with Imreallyslowme on a proper pump-up vacuum bleeder after using a mates one........ so much easier Taskmaster or something ? Like the sealey oil drain suction pumps but with a fitting for a bleed nipple instead I think it was 50 quid or something from brown brothers...... excellent value considering the amount of cars and bikes we seem to get through

I have an eazybleed and a oneperson brake bleeder where there is a one way valve in the pipe so you don't need to do the nipple up between pumps, or between blasts from the eazybleed.
I've seen a sort of homemade easybleed made from a medium sized garden pump sprayer and a spare fuid cap and some metal putty/epoxy. You can get a few litres in then for a proper flush, instead of 1/2 a litre at a time in the Gunson one. And there is less chance of running low too.
