Afternoon all, After lurking for a couple of weeks I thought I'd throw up a few details of my car to see what you think. There's some lovely metal on these pages, so I hope this is up to scratch! Here is my (deep breath) Toyota MR2 Mk1 Supercharger Super Edition. It's basically a JDM-spec Supercharger, and the Super Edition bit is because it's one of a relatively small number of run-out special-edition cars that received various goodies including Momo steering wheel and gear-knob, Recaro fishnet seats, mirror t-bar glass, mirror-polished wheels, and a limited-slip diff. There are currently only four of these in the UK (that I know of!) and this is the most original of the lot (two are projects and one has had a Mk2 turbo engine slung in the back!). It's a long-term keeper for me - having had various silly cars since my original NA MR2 a few years ago I've not found anything that can make me smile so much! Anyway, here are some pics from when I first picked it up in January:

I've also got rid of the hideous front number-plate and treated it to a set of Raybrig headlights: ...and discovered it has a set of unknown adjustable shocks So that's where it stands at the moment. The rest of the 'to-do' list currently stands as follows: Replace cambelt for peace-of-mind Fit engine poly-bush mounts Fit uprated pads all round (unsure of brand as yet) Braided brake-lines Fit oversized SC pulley (should see the old girl up to about 190bhp) Attend to small patch of rust above the windscreen before it gets out of hand It'll be doing various shows over the summer (if it ever arrives!) and will also be coming with me to Le Mans in June. Hope you like

have loved mk1 MR2s since I was a kid. definitely on my wish list thats for certain. think as they've aged they've slowly lost the 'hairdresser's car ' image, and become more of an appreciable classic. whatever they are, that one is stunning

Thanks all! Yeah I'm really pleased with it. I love the interior too, someone once told me it was like sitting in a transformer! Rust is, as ever, the killer with these. My old one seemed determined to return to its base state, but that was a UK car that had bee subject to our salty roads for it's entire life. This latest car was imported in around 2000, and was properly undersealed early on - it's remarkably solid and I intend to keep it that way! And a quick pic of my old UK NA, just cos

Welcome, from a fellow MR2 lover. I am really partial to a Mk1 SC - they are very rare and really fit the bill where the N/A was a touch underpowered. Is the interior definitely original? The reason I ask is that I have exactly the same Recaro Fishnets in my Mk2 that came from a Rev3 where the Recaro interior was factory optional. It just seems odd that they were still putting the same optional seats in 6 years after yours in the 3rd revision of a new model! I have also seen them in a slightly different fabric in Starlets and Hilux's. Lovely car - for god's sake keep it garaged! My Mk2 is sat in the rain as I don't have a garage. I have owned it 10 years and pamper it but it is beginning to have a few rust issues.

Your zircon blue looks fantastic, really shows off the Mk2 curves! Yes, the Recaros are definitely standard. I think Toyota liked adding recaros to special editions across its range - you're right in that they can also be found in Starlets and Hiluxes. From Wikipedia: I think in reality they are a little different to the Recaros in yours. The pattern is different, for a start Unfortunately it's not garaged at the moment, and in fact it hasn't been for most of its life in the UK. A garage is a prerequisite for when I move house, but given that might be a year or two away I'll have to come up with something in time for next winter I think!

Interesting stuff - i'm certainly not very knowledgeable on Mk1's so that clears it up nicely. Cheers - I like the colour of mine, it's a bit different to all the blacks, whites and reds. Stays really shiny too! Aah yes, a garage. I'm on my second house now - detached with a 5 car drive and still no garage

Does anyone know what happened to this car? It appears to have been off the road since 2015. Hopefully wasn't written off...
