I found out after i bought this car a B Reg granada 2.8i ghia X that its an executive model with leather air con etc does anyone know much about these how many executives were made or how many are left or anythign as i am toying with keeping the car its on the road taxed and mot'd but its quite a nice car with lots of extras and think if made mint will be a future investment.
I was told to post on the banger forums for parts for these but before you tell me off or get annoyed agree or disagree i do not but however for these items i am paying £100:-
crackless dashboard both front and rear bumpers in good condition good steering wheel boot hinges as mine doesnt stay up
all in good nick for a ghia x which are not the most common parts out there so i rekon i got a bargain !
even just had a 52 reg mondeo come in with a whole tank of diesel in part exchange so wont cost me any fuel providing it gets me there lol

not sure on production or how many are left but would guess it is 1 of the more common mk2 granada's to have been saved, due to its run out high specs. leather trip comp trx alloys electric everything, some also had the lsd fitted,
may be able to find out more tomorrow as i think ive seen a sales brochure for 1 lying around somewhere.

Love these cars and they are bound to be a safe investment at the moment. If I remember right Ghia X is the same spec as Ghia but with added air-con and trip computer, Executive is just added leather trim. The TRX (metric) wheels were fitted to all injection models as standard instead of the 14" alloys, all Injection models had the black 2.8i rubber front spoiler. Sportspack version is just badged 2.8 injection with stick on vinyl stickers instead of chrome badges and Recaro seats, uprated suspension and colour coded bumpers instead of chrome, the trim around the windows is black without the chrome insert. I think I'm right in remembering that the boot lid is held up by 2 thin metal rods (torsion bars) which run across the width of the boot under the parcel shelf, they have 3 settings and can usually be set on to the highest/hardest setting for sagging bootlids or if a spoiler is fitted. There is 3 notches on the ends, watch your fingers, they are under a lot of pressure!

ahh that may be of help regarding boot springs i will check many thanks ! unfortunately this oe has had the 14 inch ones fitted as it had the metric wheels on it before and tyres were rather perished so they put 14 inch mk2 granada wheels on what size were the metric ones ? and is this a good thing or a bad thing that i have the 14's ?

TRX tyres cost a packet so most have long gone, the X had differant leather seats to the normal Ghia leather other than that nothing special that any Ghia could be specced up with. As said the boot springs are adjustable (3 positions for each spring) look under the parcle shelf from the boot near the hinge and you will see the end of the bars in a slot, use some rope to pull the bars back into the next slot to add pre tension, a car that came without a boot spoiler will need them re tensioning if you add a spoiler

Metric tyres were 190/65 x 390 (mm) or 15.35" and must be near obsolete now, if you could find some they would cost £££££ as bortaf said. They were originally only made by Michelin i think and possibly Avon but there was some remoulds around back in the day made by Colway and another manufacturer whose name i cant remember. They did look real nice on the TRX's tho

This does sound like a very nice car so we need to see some pictures quick-sharp...!!! The 'Executive' was the top of the tree Granada with all the trinkets thrown at it including the special leather interior that features hides from a tannery in Wimbledon of all places...
