Right tomorrow i have set myself a list of things to do
1)adjust and sort out rear brakes on sh*t box fiesta thats not mine and still stuck on my drive
2) remove diff , weld diff, replace diff
3)find something to weld up hole i created in my e30 by cutting out the perfectly good spare wheel well for no real reason.
4) get rid of the curse word brake lines that remain after i raped them with my grinder
right now that is the list of things to do, the prediction list is as follows
1) fiesta wont play ball, i will spend a minimal amount of time on it as i will realise i don't have the right tool for the job...or if luck has it that i have the right tool i will do the job and then start stressing on whether its done right or not
2) this one has to be done, as i'm getting paid for this one.. but I'm sure it will take a long time, as bmw's brilliant use of allen bolts on the driveshafts round off one after another, leaving me smashing a 15mm socket over them and hoping i can get them off..when it is off, the welder will no doubt fudge up as usual. then after hours of tripping out the electrics in the house it will get welded...eventually put diff back on crush hand, swear a lot.. be curse word off.
3) i probably wont find anything as no doubt task 2 will take up all the day.. come to conclusion that stealing a hexagon stop sign is the best way for a free spare wheel well "plug"
4) this wont happen i know it.
there i have found that pre-empting disaster of my over optimistic (for me) to do lists, leaves me feeling somewhat better about it when the inevitable happens and it all goes wrong, at least it wont come as a suprise.
anyone else want to join in

Ah man, is that chicks Fiesta still haunting you?!
I think it helps to think positive. What I tend to do is make a bigger list, but with a longer deadline. That way, I can pick and choose what jobs I do depending on what I feel like doing that day. Eventually it all gets crossed off the list.

tomorrow i will hopefully be doing:
1. strip remaining paint off 10" alloys and polish them more
2. replace exhaust back box on 306 after it broke off just after the joint, swung round and got wedged between the bumper and the rot hanging on its rubber, this made not clanking noise or anything and the ending didnt get any louder, i didnt know until i got to my destination and went to get somthing form my boot!!! WTF!
3. replace fuel filter on 306
4. paint some more of the red kittens chassis
5. start to strip and clean rear axle for beige kitten
and do courseowkr and tidy up a load of stuff.....
my predictions are:
1. it will be raining to much to be outside using paint stripper, and i just wont bother
2. GSF will have orderd the wrong back box in....... and it will be a right pain to do the job, which should be 1 exhaust clamp, and a rubber hanger... but it will all go wrong!
3. GSF wont have it in stock
4. i wont be able to find red kitten race car mojo
5. not enough hours in the day...

Ah man, is that chicks Fiesta still haunting you?! . f*ck yes everytime i look out the window. shes asking whats going on with it, my parents are askin whats goin on with it, even i am. i just hate the car never want to go near it, but i have to do it now:(gaytimes. i tried making longer lists i just felt even more sucky when i realise i achieve none of the items. and i can never give myself proper deadlines as everything is one horrible rush after an other due to me being lazy and leaving everything till last minute. doh. at least if the diff thing doesnt explode on me i'll get paid for that job mr reliant thats a fine list and fine predictions to. its always worth predicting a parts company cocking something up

quick update on this one, well jobs 1,3& 4 failed to happen.
2 did. feel good for a change about cars even though it wasnt my own, 5.5 hours of swearing and lying in the wet. eventually got diff changed welded and back on. sounds like a long time, but i did this by myself with no extra helping pair of hands in the rain, on axle stands etc etc. got paid for it, almost as much as bmw dealer would probably charge for an hours labour:P but it was still worth it.

Today I am feeling like a bag o' wibblepoo (probably comes from being outside in the rain for 6 hours on that bloody Polo), but tomorrow and thursday's list is:
1) Work out how to tighten CV boot clamps without the correct tool
2) Fit the new wheel bearing
3) Fit the new tie rod end
4) Try to unwedge thecastle nut in the top of the P/S strut (probably involing winding the nut back down, grinding the thread off the shaft and undoing it).
5) Fit new dampers and springs
6) Fit new top mounts to the struts.
7) Try to remove the siezed bolts from the calipers
8) Fit struts to the car
8) Fit new pads and discs
9) Fit new alloys
10) Back on the ground!
Predictions:
1) Every single nut / thread will be damaged
2) Every single nut I have to undo will be siezed
3) I will find a million new tools I need
4) I will get to about no. 4 on the list.

Bah well I had a night and a half on the pop last night. The back brake is seizing on and when I was pounding the brake pedal I snapped a brake cable at the front. Annoyed at that but glad at the same time that it didn't go while I was standing on the brake trying to stop the car.
:confused emotions:

I'm sure it will take a long time, as bmw's brilliant use of allen bolts on the driveshafts round off one after another, leaving me smashing a 15mm socket over them and hoping I can get them off. if they round, bash a 10mm multi spline tool in like us pros works a treat seriously, take a little prep time. wire brush the ends of thread sticking out of the diff flanges then liberally apply wd40. use an elictrical screwdriver to dig the wibblepoo out of the bolt heads. have a cuppa while the wd40 soaks in. hammer the allen key (socket fitting ones are preffered, the shorter the better) until the key hits home. now they *should* undo, but if they don't its time to get that multi spline out. hope that keeps the swearing in the future to a minimum
