Afternoon all, my problem is this>>>>http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k130/v1xz/Weller%20Wheels/894FE66C-3519-4B1E-8B1E-8E664F475EF9-62944-0000125E15E53EE1_zps8c507076.jpg
The wheels are far too wide for the car and now the car is scrapping the tyres, my question: Do i roll the arches? Can i roll the arch enough to make space for these thick wheels? Do i give up, sell up and buy smaller wheels???

You'll never roll them enogh to get them boots underneath. Maybe a slight pull, roll arches flat and way narrower tyres with a big stretch and you'd get away with it. The best options are; A: as per slacker, bolt on arches B: smaller wheels!

As it stands, the tyres that were on we're 185/70. I managed to get them swapped for 175/65. I did originally ask for 165/60 but the tyre guy said it won't fit.

Wow, this has to be one of the coolest Matiz' I've seen! As for wheels, they're small in diameter already, it's just the width and tire size holding you back. Lower profile tires, a little camber (if possible) and some arch work or bolt ons should sort it

I always wanted to do this to the one I had! I assume they're 14's? 13's would work better IMO, and it's easier to get skinnier tyres - I know a supplier who does down to 145/80/13!
I'd suggest skinnier tyres (165 will definitely go on) and bolt on arches. Or just bolt on arches! Matiz's aren't worth much, so you might as well cut the arches under the bolt on arches too, so you can lower it properly.

Bashy bashy roll them arches! Stretched rubber and super roll should get them to fit.. as above Matiz isn't worth millions so don't be scared to try

The wheels are 13" Rims, ill look into camber shims as I'm sure i saw some on ebay. in regards to tyres, if i went to a different tyre place, these tyres that are on the rims are virtually new. Would they take these in as part ex??? As for lowering it, i think thats out the question. I have many speed humps in my area, very horrid single lumps. Plus its the wifes car which she takes the kids around in, i didnt really want to do anything too drastic to it!!! Where do i find bolt on arches?

if you are crafty you could fit some bolt on arches or even weld some arches on, so the arch sits lower than std, thus reducing the arch gap and giving the impression of being lower than it actually is. kinda like body dropping, but on the cheap! I don't really see the point in fitting tyres that are too narrow for the wheel and running camber to tilt the wheel under the arch, it looks curse word (to me), it won't do much for the handling and it seems a lot of effort when you could have just fitted a narrower wheel in the first place. You might aswell make the wider wheels fit properly and enjoy the full benifits of them imo! As for pxing the tyres, i cant see many tyre places would be willing to, as they won't know the history of the tyre and they will struggle to sell them on, due to liability issues. Most tyre place won't even fit new tyres if they aren't supplied by them. (they claim it is due to liability, but the real reason is that they make most of their money on supplying the tyre)
