I think there is one I got out of my brothers 4x4 before he sold it hidden in the

And extremely poor sound quality as your amping a high level output twice, even in my 25 i have a wired veba fm modulator hooked up to the oem head unit as tape adaptors sounded atrocious. If it was just going to be for a weekend car then thats ok, but for a car driven daily just no |

don't forget to look at halfrauds online, they have quite a few good offers on these days.
Have the unit delivered to local store for free, I got my Alpine from them as it was the cheapest place for once!

I can offer two solutions...
1) a Kenwood CD/MP3 player - Model number is KDC - W3037A and it will play CD's MP3's and WMA's...
2) I found a old 12 disc JVC CD Changer and (tape) head unit that I removed from my Mini when I went with a Bluetooth headunit...
Part numbers are KS-FX202 for the head unit and CH-X500 for the CD changer...
I will try to load pictures later but presently things are not working properly on the uploading photo front.....
Before then, offers accepted if you look up the model numbers and see something you're interested in....

If it was just going to be for a weekend car then thats ok, but for a car driven daily just no can't say I had any issues with the sound quality when using one on a oe stereo or an aftermarket one running subs and upgraded speakers. The sound quality on an original equipment stereo generally isn't all that great anyway, most people will be playing mp3 files which again isn't great for sound quality either, so I can't really say my ears noticed any further degradation in sound quality. Back when I started driving, I was running an upgraded sony cassette deck with a tape adaptor hooked up to a sony discman which had a proer line out aswell as headphone socket, smallish sub, uprated co-ax speakers front and rear and in all honesty it didn't sound bad for the money invested in it. Granted it won't be up there with £1000 installs, but it was miles better than the std install. (having said that though, cassette adaptors can vary in quality. The cheap one I linked earlier will probably be a bit naff, but there are pleanty of brand names which make them, sony, belkin and phillips to name a few) On the plus side the cassette adaptor is perfectly in keeping with a retro car, you can keep your std cassette player and it'll sound 100 times better than most of those cheap fm tuners you can get from my experience (may not apply to more expensive ones?). My brother in law uses one and it constantly pics up random static noise, only you can't just hit the seek button on wait for rds to retune, like you would when listening to radio. It might also be worth pulling your std unit out and seing what it on the back, you might find it has a line i/p which you could hardwire to. A lot of old oe blaupunkt units had line i/p and o/p that were not used, so you could eveen connect a sub up to. I currently run a blaupunkt acd9430 single cd deck which is period to the car (early 90s) and it has both line in and line out. IMO there is nothing worse than a glitzy modern stereo in an old car, it just looks wrong! If it isn't going in a retro then halfords often have good deals on jvc headunits, which for the money are well spec'd. |

they are not on eBay, I thought I would offer them on here first, since the OP seemed to want one and I would rather sell something directly to someone that want it than hang about to be messed around on eBay...
Mind you, I will be getting rid of a lot of stuff in the next few months so I imagine some of it will end up on eBay...
