How easy is it to do?
What do you need to do? What additional parts might you require to fit one to a car that never had one in the first place?
Ta!

Hmm, if the car you're fitting it to had an LSD as a different spec option then I'd say it would be easier - just bolt up the halfshafts and propshaft and away you go (well, sort of...). Even if it's an LSD from the same manufacturer as your car it could be that they kept the same halfshaft design and propshaft mounts (I know Merc does this to an extent), which makes install easier. If it's a totally alien part then I would think it's a case of hybrid halfshafts and propshafts and some welding whilst on your back! I have never fitted an LSD so maybe there's someone here that can shed more light on things.... just thought I'd try and get the ball rolling

Sounds like a great project! So is it gonna be Rover V8 or will you find a Mitsi lump to go in? You could get hold of a six speed box from a Toyota Supra!

;D ;D ;D I'm always doing it! My V8 project started out as a simple(ish) swap... get the engine running and transplant it. Now I'm doing mappable EFI, and I've just got hold of two KKK turbochargers for a twin-turbo set-up after seeing what Sauber did with an engine similar to mine in their Le Mans cars! Trouble with me is I don't know when to stop!! And now you've got me thinking about Mercedes LSD's!
