For reluctant sale is our 1994 L reg 5 door Isuzu Trooper 3.1TD LWB 7 seater estate.
We bought the truck in October last year for winter and to move house with as we needed it for where we lived. We have now moved so it's time to let the trooper go to pay some bills. It was unstoppable in the snow and ice.
The good:
MOT valid until March 13th 2014 (tested earlier this week and passed immediately)
Taxed until end of August 2013
7 seats
Extensive service history including a relatively recent cam belt change and replacement injector pump
Recently rebuilt alternator
4 good snow tyres
Very smooth 3.1 turbo diesel engine with plenty of power
30mpg+ easily achievable on a long run, even with a trailer
Snorkel
4 Electric windows
Electric folding heated mirrors
Ball and pin tow hitch with single electrics
Good condition comfortable interior
Perfectly operational 4wd and low range system (god send in the snow!)
Sony CD player
3 keys
Alarm (operated off the central locking)
No sunroof (no leaks!)
Twin batteries
Odometer reads 205,000km which equates to 127,381 miles which is not a lot for a vehicle of this age (under 7,000 miles a year). The Speedo however is in MPH. This is an original UK registered truck...some just came like this!
Bad bits:
Electric Aerial is missing presumed dead. It wasn't there when I bought it. The radio still works fine.
Some small blemishes on the bodywork but is still in good condition for the age of the vehicle.
The aftermarket spot lights on the front don’t work. I haven’t investigated why as the headlights are very good on their own.
That's all I can think of really. In the history of my car ownership, I have had a discovery, patrol, shogun and this trooper and the trooper is by far and away the best truck of the lot. I will buy another one next winter.
I am selling the trooper to pay some bills…unless I can be tempted by something fast, classic or both….
