Here is my mustang fox body 3.3, found on ebay and a quick message to the seller found me on an 8 hour 340 mile round trip on a tuesday night to pick it up drove quite well apart from no heating, first thing was to remove stickers and a wash it soon went up in the air for the work to begin, first up was to make a new exhaust, and sort the major oil leak, get it to keep water in it and a full service after that was to refurbish the rusty headlights and fit brighter bulbs then onto some of the interior problems, not one seat was bolted in properly, dash lights were non existent and there was a big battery drain from excessive wiring going nowhere, all sorted now though then got the new air filter for it and probably the most ambitious bit is starting the bodywork for a re paint before wheels day on good friday!!!! needless to say the weather is making it very difficult i've bought the hardboard to fabricate a new headlining and due to the weather outside we've started the wheel refurb (indoors) going polished again with gunmetal centres.

i'm surprised the octy is getting all of the responses so far as its nowhere near as retro as the mustang, and sadly getting nowhere near the attention it needs from me keeping it clean in this weather

Having now sold the skoda i've got a little more done on the mustang, starting with a new headlining and a couple from wheels day (no paint yet due to the crappy weather still holding things up until it gets warmer) hoping to get a bit further with it by the end of the month, but at the minute grafting a weber carb on it is taking priority due to the original one spitting its dummy out almost daily now, and hopefully some new wheels might be in order too.

Nice Stang mate! I rather like the Fox Bodies myself!
If I'm not mistaken the 6 cylinder in these is rather similar to the Australian Ford sixes from our Falcons and Cortinas. They continued into the early 2000's and from the factory had around 180kw (250hp) standard! Certainly a lot more than that available as well, although all the later ones here are 4.1L and 4.0L engines

Good move on the Weber carb, my Dad's second wife had a, I think, 1980 back when they were new with a V6, nothing but carb problems.

the weber is nowhere near fitted yet!! lots of fabrication to be done, as for power this one left the factory with a whopping 90bhp,

Incar,
Yup.. 90 sounds about right. Back in the late 70s and early 80s smog controls were murdering the output of US engines. That car originally had a catalytic convertor and was designed to run on unleaded. Probably cleaner emissions-wise than most European cars sold 10 years later.
There's lots of ways to de-federalize them and open up substantial power. I am not familiar with that specific engine, but a lot of it often has to do with valve timing.
