More progress as the car is now up in the air to get the exhausts sorted. However whilst doing that, I also swapped batteries and attempted to start the engine again. Then I found the centre carbs slightly seized...got that sorted and lost the sparks, got that sorted and jammed the starter....got that sorted and finally the engine briefly coughed into life again! Now I am having to get a bit more clearance for the rearmost carbs and trumpets.

I've had a short session today and have been able to split one of the exhaust pipes. I realised that, on the donor XJ6, the silencer is at the front near the engine - hence the curved manifold pipe and I will have mine at the back. So I will need to reverse the silencer, relative to the long pipe, to get the correct flow direction (not sure if it matters, but better to keep it, sort of, as designed). I also remembered that the section of "Y" tubing actually came from the original "Super B" in 1990.....

Another little bit of time to have a grovel under the car to try exhaust positioning. ....and "yes" I have managed to lose my other axle stand!

Eek careful crawling around under concrete blocks! I've known them to crumble surprisingly easily if you end up with pressure points in the wrong place. Looking great otherwise though

Thanks Biturbo, the car is well supported on the other three corners and the block is well cushioned. I have now got the silencer in a reasonable position, made clearance around the rear carbs and started to consider the last water connection to the radiator.

A nice piece of angled Aluminium tube should do the trick, except that Marton Welding have now moved and it is the weekend, so I cannot get it welded yet....

A new welding firm has been found and they have the tube, so progress is being maintained.

As I had been metal bashing to get the clearance around the back carbs, I have now been able to get the end ram pipes actually bolted in position, here is a picture to prove it....

here is a picture to prove it... As if we'd ever doubt you! Thanks for your faith George..... In other news I have been working inside the car to actually get the interior panels attached, as they have been stacked around the garage for too long!

More fixing work on the panels inside, next I will be working to fill the gaps and spaces. I have also tried the seats again and they are just too big, so if anybody wants to buy a pair of light Lotus high back seats post/PM on here. There is a picture of the seats on P 18 (6th June 2016)

I have cut up a bit of rubber tube and had a quick trial fit and it all looks good for the radiator bottom connection.

As might be suspected progress has slowed to a crawl with the cold and wet weather....however I just popped out to show some festive spirit and shine some light on the MeGa B. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

You can get a similar effect with bad plug leads. Added benefit is that they flash when you crank the motor.

Well 8 weeks with not a lot happening, I thought that I would venture out into the cold damp garage in-between storms and have a tidy up. Another picture of the inside panelling just to show how much more needs doing.....I really need to get on with it!!

Lots to do and also lots done. You'll have it done in no time when you get the chance to get stuck in on it.
