Need to know the standard fittment of this carb!
Wanting one for my 'Zuki SJ as the Asain carb fitted isn't very purposeful as they get fuel starvation when climbing hills FFS???
Anyways, I want to go rob one from the local scrappies and thought some of you fine gents will know what i could find one on... I'm thinking Ford?

I believe early Fords before they went to the Ford VV / Motorcraft "Tamperproof" carbs had this Weber. Possibly also fitted to some later ones as well after the VV / Motorcraft proved to be a bit crepe. No idea if other marques also used it.

Thanks for that. anyone know of any other readily available carb that would suit a 1300cc with circe 60bhp? HIF44's have been mentioned? Just trying to keep my options open, so i'm not search round the scrappies in the snow!

wile tramping through my favourite local yard once looking for a Motorcraft carb to whip some bits off I discovered that a lot of Mk3 Fiestas have a Weber twin choke carb. No idea which model but might work in your application.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

You'll find 'em on several Pinto-powered Fords, particularly 2.0 ones. Also mk2 Escort Mexicos (er, might be lucky!), although I've got one which was off an Opel Rekord (2.0 CIH engine).
Probably a bit big though, sorry, don't know what else to suggest!
If you can fit one OK a DFTH might do the job, they're a different fitting to the DGVs....

I thought the Mk2 Mexicos got the 38DGAV

fittment wont be an issue as either way an adaptor will have to be made up, cant even fab up a new manifold as the stat and loads of waterways sit in it???

The DGAV was on the 2.0 Capri and MK3/4 Corty, and some early sierras. the 38DGAS was on the 3.0 Capri I believe there is a Weber DCD from the Mk2 Cortina that has the same manifold fitting, and all those carbs have been succesfully used as bolt on replacements with re-jetting, on 1.2 and 1.3 Skoda lumps.
