So I am spending a few days at my dads and need something to do.
We have a Fiat 127 that last saw a road legally nearly 15 years ago and has been sat about in a field ever since. It has got a wheezing 903cc pushrod engine that only had about 45bhp when it was new. So I decided to make it a bit more interesting. We have a couple of old Lancias, one of which had a 2 litre turbo diesel engine in. That should make it shift and be a bit different!
Here she is
The offending unit!
The engine and gearbox have to be removed by dropping out the bottom which is a pain. All the ancillaries have to be removed to fit so alternator, water pump, etc plus anti-roll bar, exhaust and all the normal things like wiring, throttle, choke, clutch and speedo cables and all that!
Here is the unit I want to use
and the turbo
And in it goes!
That box you can see hanging about used to be the air supply box for the cabin, but that has to go..
I will try and use this original engine mount
and will weld a bracket into the arch somewhere
That's all for now!
