Re-paint started life called 'Cannons Re-paint', I tried it once in the 80's and although good I found non drip gloss like 'jellipex' or even Woolies cover plus to be equally as good on gloss finishes. Satin or matt black is very easy as you don't get brush stroke problems. As well as the roller, paint pads are also an excellent way to apply and give a better finish.

My first car, a Mini, was painted tartan red with that Cannons Repaint stuff and a brush in 1991 ;D Not a bad finish at all, any brush marks were t-cut out after the paint had been left to go fully hard I've got some pics somewhere, I shall go hunting later!
