A perfect Austin Maestro 500 City Van in show condition and just 36,087 miles from new.
EQUIPMENT
180 degree opening rear door, stowage space beneath load floor, 85.8cu ft loadspace, twin convex door mirrors, door bins, twin swivelling sun visors with docket pockets, two speed wipers with flick-wipe, lockable glovebox, rake-adjustable front seats, coat hooks, coin tray, ash tray.
EXTERIOR
This fabulous Maestro Van is finished in Champagne Beige, (Code LMK), and is incredible. It has been beautifully preserved with all the panels being original and rust free. Laid up in storage since 2002 and having recently been refreshed the immaculate large clear side panels provide plenty of space for any necessary signwriting. No scuffs or dents and with all the trim and decals correct and present this van has had a lucky escape from the normal abuse. A truly remarkable example.
INTERIOR
Finished in Tobacco Brown vinyl, (Code CNC), the seats are like new. Optional brown fitted carpets were specified over the standard rubber floor covering adding a touch of luxury and again are as new. The dark brown dash complements the interior with only a one tiny one inch spit barely visible. All the controls function perfectly. The rear load space is huge offering 85.8 cu ft of usable capacity with only minor scuffs to the flooring to note. A very underworked workhorse!
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The famous 1.3 litre A-plus engine needs little introduction and is renowned for its driveability and excellent economy, this low mileage example being no exception. The 62bhp feels spirited, is quiet and offers very low maintenance costs. The VW derived four-speed gear box is excellent.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Simple 5J X 13 steel rims with perfect Austin centre plastic caps fitted. The first owner requested chrome embellishers being a traditionalist and these remain on the van. Four new 175/70 R13 tyres recently fitted. The hydraulic brakes with servo assistance and a rear pressure limiting valve offer ample stopping power.
HISTORY FILE
Purchased by J.J Balmforth 1950 Ltd as an ex demonstrator when the vehicle was just 6 months old and owned by them for 24 years before being acquired by a collector, this stunning vehicle has had one main owner from new. Sold by us to a local opticians we are privileged to be able to offer this rare vehicle again. A collection of MOT certificates up to 2002 when it was dry stored confirm the low mileage of just 35,802. A very rare survivor ready for shows, as an advertising tool or simply enjoyed. The transfers currently on the vehicle can be removed.
MOT until March 2014 and Taxed until July 2013. HPI clear.
