Hello and thanks for looking at my ad. This isn't something I want to do but I'm emigrating to Australia in April for 2 years and can't afford to keep the garage while I'm away. I would truly love to keep it for when I return.
I bought the car off a good friend in August 2010 and intended to keep it until I had space and time to work on it. This never really materialized and the car has been sat, dry stored, ever since. I have collected some parts for it which include a 6 point bolt in Safety Devices roll cage and a set of stock struts converted to coilovers, these will be included in the sale.
The friend I brought the car from spent a lot of time and money rebuilding the engine with forged internals, as part of a university project. He has loads of pictures that I can get on request. The car has probably only done around 500 miles since the rebuild which was completed with the following spec:
Re-Bore to suit 1st stage oversize
Skimmed head (light)
Eagle H Beam Rods
Ross Racing Pistons + New rings
Clevite 77 Big end bearings
Clevite 77 Main bearings
All gaskets replaced
All Belts Replaced
Tensioner replaced
Waterpump replaced (OEM)
It also benefits from a chargecooler system that I installed myself. I decided to do this because of the small opening in the bumper and the long amount of pipework needed to run an intercooler. I used a cooler the same as:
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-LIQUID-INTERCOOLER-ASSEMBLY-AIR-WATER-CHARGECOOLER-NEW-IN-UK-/400423869381?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d3b1f5bc5
Along with a Bosch water pump and Fiat rad. I also fitted some custom made hoses from SFS and a header tank from ebay in the engine bay to finish it off. Pics below:

The car has also had a full pollybush kit fitted, front and back, as well as the steering box overhauled, new brake pads and some other serviceable items. This was all done at the time of the engine rebuild, so again, hardly any miles done.
OK, outside pics, these were all taken pre-storage but it has just sat untouched since:

Other good bits worth mentioning:
It still has the air dam on the front bumper, ask any Starion owner, these are hard to find if it hasn't got one.
It also has the vented, narrow body bonnet, again hard to find but a must have in my opinion.
The wheels have been powdercoated and the tyres are good (potenzas and T1R's).
The car has been undersealed.
Door locks removed and smoothed, remote central locking installed.
Nice twin exit exhaust fitted.
Radiator re-cored.
Now to the not so good bits:
Bodywork:
The car was resprayed around 4 years ago, however it was prepped badly and micro-blisters have formed on most panels. There is also some slightly worse bubbling on the front edge of the bonnet, skirts and a bubble at the top of the windscreen that lets in water. There is also a small dent on one of the arches.
Corrosion:
There was a small amount of welding done for it to pass it's last MOT. I haven't looked under the car in a while but when I brought it there was nothing serious. It has been dry stored since.
Interior:
Full leather but a DIY patch on the drivers bolster. Some panels are missing from the centre console and have been replaced with carbon sheet.
Engine:
There is a leak from the rear crank seal, the manifold - turbo gasket is blowing (new gasket supplied) and a hanger has broken on the exhaust. The alternator may also need a refurb. Cruise control removed.
Vehicle currently SORN with no MOT. I have no time to put it through one at the moment so please don't ask, the price easily reflects this. I can help to organize for the car to be transported.
All in all this is a car, that for someone with some time, could be made into something very special reasonably easily. It could be an amazing track or drift car (LSD and 177bhp standard) without having to worry about the exterior imperfections.
Thanks for looking, I can pull the car out of the garage this weekend for more some current pictures if required.
Car is located near St. Albans, Herts. Please PM me for contact details.
Harry.
