I was down the boozer the other day talkin to a lad, and he was tellin me about how he's planning on taking one 205: ...and shoehorn an Evo engine, gearbox and running gear in, so making it into a 4x4: ...Now when i first heard this, i thought friggin idiot, BUT then i couldn;t get the idea out of my head, and the more i thought about it, the more i thought that this might just be a fantastic idea. What do you lot think?

Surely GtiR running gear would be nearer the right size and a lot cheaper to get hold of?
Mind you, they are a bit poo on the road so maybe Evo stuff would be for the best.

Yes, definitely a good example of pub talk. Mike :-) Lolz ;D Yes i'd prefer the Evo as it is, and carefully mod the living daylights out of it one way or another.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

well if a sierra cosworth 4x4 fits into a fiaso, then an evo will fit in a 205
There is a guy on PPC forum that is putting mi16 4x4 gubbins in one

Myu mate started doing an mi16 4x4 conversion. He stripped the car he bought on ebay and found the shell had been in an accident in the past and so wasnt very straight. that was the end of that project but I'm sure he still has all the running gear etc...

why an evo? Does he have one smashed up to rip the bits off?
The question is, why bother when you can pick up a proper escort cossie shell off ebay for 2k? Not evo running gear but loads cheeper!
It seems quite common too to see sapp shells with all the right bits welded in for £300-400!!!
thats stupidly cheep.

Sounds like a great idea for a project, and if he's got the skills, why not? A colleague has got an Evo motor in a Colt, and was looking at making it 4WD too. It's a transverse motor as standard so makes sense really... Oh, and the DJM cars (Ka's ) have Cosworth flavoured internals, that's why they were on the cover of Fast Ford. If you're ripping out so much of the original, why not? More info and pic robbed from here www.djm-motorsport.co.uk/

I have an idea for a Ka. My wife used to have one and I rather like them. In 20 years time they'll be as hot as 105Es are now.
I'm not going into detail on my idea incase anyone nabs it beforee I do it. And with things as they are it will be yeaaaaars before that happens.
