Should be getting on with my 1200S Coupe and repairs to my supercharged SIMCA 1000 but couldn't resist this when it came up. .... a SIMCA 1000 shell and dozens of boxes of bits. Last time it was used was at PPC mag's 'PPC in the Park 2012' at Mallory. The owner has since used it as a donor car for another SIMCA 1000 project...for bits like the adapted twin webered Alpine 1442 engine etc. It's been blasted and surprisingly for a SIMCA or FIAT... there is still some metal left. I'll probably use it as the base for another Honda win cam transplane or maybe the supercharged 1294 engine from the gold car. Being an early car it should have the round headlamps. I'll probably put it back to that as I've a fibreglass front panel and bonnet to fit. Mick [imghttp://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i347/wardsim/IMG_8459_zps36ab7656.jpg][/img]

I'm hoping to have the SIMCA 1000 Rallye 2 back on the road for March (Tuesday's MoT permitting). The gold car is in 'mothballs' in a mate's garage until I can find the time to rebuild it. Mick

Thanks,.... frag on here has already alerted me to the ebay 1000. I'd be off there after it if like a shot if had any storage space left at all Every corner of the garage is full of boxes with the bits from this latest car and my supercharged 1000 is currently 'lodging ' in a mate's garage. I'll have to get this one into a rolling shell so I can crack on with the RHD 1200S coupe rebuild.... It's buried under the stuff in the garage...!!! Mick

This car had later 'facelift' front panel. I already had fibreglass round headlamp front panel and bonnet to match so decided to go for earlier look. Area behind panel houses spare wheel on standard SIMCA 1000. Rallye models have radiator mounted there. This car had been partly prepared for track use with just a frame for the rad and no gesture towards a 'boot' floor..... Mick

[imghttp://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i347/wardsim/100_2567_zps7721d27d.jpg]"] Less weight and no rust.... fibreglass front panel. Round SIMCA 1000 headlamps are still around. Mini lamps are and easy fit too. Mick

Agreed, your updates are always more satisfying when not illustrated by potato-cam.
