Sunday, 0645. It's cold, I feel like schnizzle, so I'm having a Poor Man's Speedball (Kenco/Richmond Superking). Handsome beast, huh?? Only one reason to get up this early on a Sunday.... ;D So I trundle over to v8devon's in The Scrote, and The Beast is ready and waiting. Time to hit the M5, headed southwest. Does it look cold? It was. Two hours later.... Still another 70-odd miles to go, Before we see this in a driveway Yep......its got a blower. A blower on a Crossflow. In the garage is this '54 Chevy. And in the other garage is this '34. ;D But we've come for this.... So we strap it onto the trailer... And head off home. He's following a bit close! Plenty of smutty banter on the way back, and plenty of smiles. And a couple of minor spots in the afternoon sun. Tidy Polo Mint Sierra with old lady driving! Dutch-plated SJ built for the rough stuff... Losing the light now, time for one last pic before we finish this 400 mile odyssey. v8devon's new project motor......'58 300E van with 1760 X-flow, 4-speed, Anglia rear axle, Lotus rims, and more ;D kept alive by fags, coffee, Burger King Angus Burgers. Music by Swervedriver, Incubus, Korn, Jose Gonzales, Brendan Benson, Elliot Smith, Nine Inch Nails, Johnny Cash and Motorhead. Time for bed....I'm getting too old for this ;D

Buying a BMW or a Bentley & looking cool is easy, but the credit doesn't go to you.Taking an unloved car that cost £500 & making it good enough to get photos in magazines or stand out alongside cars that cost one hundred times more is a skill reserved for us loonies!

awesome pics and write up ;D bet it was a cracking day out blown crossflow is a bit different! Guy who had the 300E's son's car, the Pop is. Apparently they drove it up to Extreme Wheels in London last year with a 12v heater gaffer-taped to the carb intakes to stop 'em icing up!!!! He said doing 75 on the M4 with the door half-open 'coz it had the lead for the heater running thru it was....erm...interesting! Hot-Rodders.....don't you just love 'em?? Nice people too- tea and cakes laid on when we arrived ;D

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

That looks like a good day out to me! I took a photo of that Pop's engine at the Supernats. The '54 is probably the one for me though (assuming it's a 2-door.

Yeah it's a 2-door.....now he's got some garage space, he's pulling the 3.8 straight 6 out for a freshen up as (adopts faux Cornish accent) "She's smokin' a bit". Apparently it belongs to his wife, who assumes Designated Driver status when they go 8-up out on the pi$$ ;D

Loving the sierra (I know it the least retro car of the bunch but it look sooooo good on black rims) As for the SPECS cameras, on the M5 past Exeter. I can conferm that with my own two eyes that they have been put up, but arnt working yet! Saw them on the way to a meet organised by "Ultimate J Club" good meet about 50 cars but no retro just the usual R33's, NSX's and loads annd loads of Civics....

Sierra - here we go again! He has an illness, it's not his fault.

yeh the sierra looks really cool on black wheels, i went on a roadtrip last week in my friends xr4x4 down to east london to try lift an engine out of an fb rx7 that he had put in a field 2 years ago,. was unsuccesful but thats to be expected trying to do that sorta job in the dark in a field with no light and no engine crane was always going to be tough. wish id taken pictures.
managed to hit 135 on the clock in his 2.9 sierra. they are awesome for towing stuff.
