I bought this Puma last year for the Mrs to use while she was waiting for her new carto arrive.
I took a shine to it for some reason and thought it might be a nice quick project to get it really tidy as there's not many tidy Pumas out there (by that I mean one without their rear wheel arches hanging out).
I started to fit the wheel arch and then the v5 turned up showing it was a CAT-D. I think it must have been pretty light as the only thing I can spot it it's had a new wing and a headlamp.
Anyway given I'd cut a lump out of it it was too late to change my mind so I finished the arch off then bought a replacement door for it (the other one had a dent). I fitted this after a battle (don't fancy doing that again) then painted the quarter and the bottom of the wing. I also gave it a full service with the proper 5/30 oil at which point I found out the rocker cover gasket had a leak so I changed that too.
By this point the MOT had ran out so I put it in yesterday and it failed on a few wee bits, which will be fixed this week meaning it has a years MOT. It's also taxed until the end of March.
Enough of the drivel. It's a 1.7 with the Yamaha vvt engine, 2000 on a V, 104k (i think), no history but a sticker on the strut top saying the timing belt was changed at 99k. It's just had a full service and is very tidy for one of these. There's a few little bits of rust and the odd little dent here and there but no rear arch rot! I've kurusted and touched in most of the little rusty bits there are. The interior's tidy, no stains or anything, still has the metal gear knob and after a prolonged battle I got the radio decoded.
I've spent a fortune on the bloody thing and probably done about 200 miles in it since we got it but I can't get anything else bigger and rustier in my lockup with it hanging around.
If you've not driven one you're missing out. They're great to drive as they're so light and rev like mental.
I'm looking for £550 quid for it. If I don't get that I'm sure I'll find something else interesting to do with it. I'm in Ayrshire Scotchland (30 miles from Glasgow). I'm open to swaps and PX's on other interesting stuff.
I'll get more pictures up but here's some to get started
