My brother (18) insures his mini through Adrian Flux, but it's still £2K

Put a quote in for a Mk2 Polo Coupe earlier last night and that came back at 1.5k I've been car shopping recently and started taking a notice of insurance groups. Sold my daily Mk3 Golf GTi which was group 15 and got a 206 which is only group 6. It's only a daily so doesn't matter what it is to me. Things like Skoda Fabia's are group 2! I couldn't drive the first car I bought because of insurance so I had to get something else as my first car.

I struggled to get a traders policy so I didn't bother in the end but a lad I went to school with had a brand new Audi A3 on one at the time!
Use Auto Trader for insurance groups. Or Parker's guide

I'm no expert here , but don't take too much notice of insurance groups , at least for me being older the group doesnt seem to have much relation to the price to insure the car
try adding on some older named drivers , so mum / nan etc

![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) And I used to think I was paying loads for my Mini fully comp for £750!,My second car a mk2 cav 1600 was £1500 fully comp. If you take inflation into consideration probably not much difference. I do however feel sorry for all you newbies!
