BMW E30 M3 1990 by KGF Classic Cars, on Flickr
SOLD / Peterborough . 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk / £21,995ono
A tremendous BMW E30 M3 with just 64,443 miles and UK BMW Dealer supplied.
MODEL HISTORY
The E30 M3 debuted at the 1985 Frankfurt motor show. Produced at the Milbertshofe factory in Munich with the drivetrain assembled by special teams and the chassis thoroughly reworked by BMW Motorsport in every significant area. The only reason for this iconic vehicles birth was to allow BMW to compete in Group A racing where a minimum of 5000 road going examples had to be built. These vehicles are therefore incredibly similar to the successful competition versions. Only 1512 European Spec 215 BHP examples were made, (Source BMW M Registry), and unmodified, low mileage examples are very collectable.
EQUIPMENT
Limited-slip differential, MacPherson strut front axle with anti-dive and reinforced anti-roll bar, sports tuned suspension, antilock brakes (ABS), dual ellipsoid headlamps, front air dam, rear air dam, plastic boot lid with rear wing, flared wheel arches front and rear, heated side mirrors, heated door locks, heated screenwasher nozzles, M3 insignia in grille, black satin chrome finish, M Technic leather sports steering wheel, leather gear knob and gaiter, cassette holder, central locking, power front windows, electric sliding roof, map lights in the rear view mirror, glove box torch, BMW sports seats, contoured rear seats, toolbox in boot lid, oil temperature gauge, M Technic instrument cluster, service interval indicator, outside temperature display, check/control info centre, OBC, rear window blind, headlight aim control.
EXTERIOR
This stunning BMW M3 is finished in Brilliant Red, (Paint Code 308), and retains an amazing deep gloss finish of a pampered, garaged car. The paint is a mirror finish. Attractive from any angle with elegant flared wheel arches, large low-slung air dams and extra-wide side sills all help accentuate the dynamic looks. Two tiny dings on the upper O/S/F door, a discrete mark on the rear bumper and a undulation on the O/S/R wheel arch do not detract from the show condition. All the correct M3 insignia remains intact and the delicate plastic boot lid and rear wing are unblemished. The rear spoiler has been painted and a tiny chip in the front screen can just be seen. There is no rust or corrosion anywhere. This car is a real crowd stopper.
INTERIOR
Cosseted, protected and covered help explain how this interior is faultless. Finished in unmarked Anthracite Ueberkaro II cloth (Code 0379) the M3 sport seats offer superb body support at all times. Arched around the driver, the accurate clear instruments, switches and levers are in just the right place. No marks anywhere with perfect door cards, anthracite headlining and carpeting which has been protected by genuine BMW carpet mats from new. The optional electrical windows and sunroof operate smoothly and digital readouts are unbroken. A boot toolkit and first aid kit are present as is the factory standard spare wheel. The BMW glove box torch does not work. The BMW Main Dealer, Evans Halshaw, rear window sticker is still intact. M3 ergonomics, crafted items and attention to detail create an ambience of a high performance sports car. Perfection.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The heart of this M3 is the four-valve four- cylinder 16-valve engine displacing 2.3 litres and developing an outstanding 215 BHP at 6750 rpm. Lift up the bonnet and the spotlessly clean engine bay greets you with a ‘BMW M Power’ inscription leaving no doubt why this car is so special. A five speed manual close-ratio Getrag transmission with a dogleg shift pattern is a delight to use. A must drive for all serious car enthusiasts.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Pristine cross-spoke design 7.5 X 16 inch alloy wheels shod in new Hankook Ventus Plus 225/45 R16 tyres. This wheel and tyre package could be ordered as a factory option and was standard fit on Evolution II and Sport Evolution models. A twin-circuit brake system with ABS and discs all round stop the car safely and quickly.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new in Germany on the 20th January 1990, (Production date 4th December 1989), by BMW Dealers in Munich this stunning car remained with its first owner up to February 1996 and 46,000 miles. Full BMW Main Dealer history is documented including the important ‘Running in’ service. Sold to an Italian collector for a brief period before coming to the UK where BMW Main Dealers, Evans Halshaw (Chesham Ltd), acquired the car. Sold by them through the BMW Approved Used Car Programme in November 1996 with 56,000 miles to Mr Matheson, this car has a fully documented and traceable history. Since purchasing the vehicle Mr Matheson has only covered 4000 miles and kept the car in a PermaBag explaining its incredible preserved condition.
Presented with all the correct BMW handbooks and vitally, all the UK Main Dealer paperwork including the original bill of sale, used car order form and extended warranty documentation taken out by the fastidious owner. Product recall letters from BMW also exist in the history file. All keys remain with the BMW Evans Halshaw key ring and the leather BMW Autobavaria leather pouch for the spare.
A unique opportunity for the discerning BMW Motorsport enthusiast wanting a very rare, genuine and enthusiast owned BMW E30 M3.
HPI Clear.
