I may be moving soon, instead of a 5 min drive to my garage (and Triumph) it'll be 30 mins.
It's a very quiet neighborhood and I'll have my own parking space.
So I'm wondering about car covers, the flat is about 1/2 mile from the sea, (as is the garage where the car lives now!).
The car rusts in a concrete garage, will a car cover be any worse?
I'd like to have the car nearer, it'll mean I can use it more and also jump in it on a whim, it'll also be good for jump starting the go to work cars, which never seem as reliable!

don't like them myself , lots and lots of people suffer blisters
maybe if the car is used often , like several times a week it might suit more

I cover all mine up over winter, so about 4 months under cover and not used. I do stick some SilcaGel Packs in the cars to soak up the damp, up to yet Ive never had blisters but again Mates have had issues

I understand you can get "breathable" covers, worth the extra?

Mine ripped after a light breeze, but probably worth it. I'll let someone else comment though

My van lives under an airflow outdoor cover through the winter; ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v335/BTJustice/P1170984_zpse83ed4d8.jpg) Cost £200 3 years ago and is 3 layer with goretex on the outside, not one of the cheap nylon covers that let water through. I was round to show a potential buyer the van on Tuesday after a night of slushy snow and the roof rack section of the roof had a puddle of water in it but the van underneath was bone dry. The only problem I have had with it was the straps being a bit thin so the seam along the bottom of my sills eventually rubbed through the straps and I now hold it down with a ratchet strap from my recovery truck. No sign of blistering, rubbing or damage from the cover, the inside is fleece lined to protect paint. The van has the advantage that the only place the cover rests is on the roof so it might be different on a car where you can see the roof and where it rests on the bonnet and bootlid paintwork. Dave. P.S. Did I mention the van is for sale {hint-hint}
