Hi,
I have a honda civic and last year bought i bought a manifold and twin 45 Dellorto DHLA's destined to fit a 1590cc twin cam engine.
I currently have a 1400cc D14A1 engine in the car as that's what it came with from standard and i love it to say the least, its responsive, revvy, potent and sounds brilliant, and i am becoming a little reluctant to swap it out for the 1590cc motor as i like it so much.
I have recently found someone who has a manifold for the dellortos for my current 1400cc engine, but i don;t really want to go through the hassle of selling the 45s and getting 40s etc etc. Better the devil you know and all that. The chart below denotes that a 35-36mm chokes would be suitable for a 140cc engine revving to 7.5k RPM which is its current 'rev limit'.
Although 35-36mm seems almighty large in the grand scheme of things especially when thats the type of chokes size you find in two litres albeit torquey low revving ones(6-6.5k RPM).
Does anyone have any opinions on whether it will be okay or run like poop etc etc. I have seen 1380cc minis running twin 45s so i reckon it will be fine. I would also plan to fit a more aggressive cam and have it revving round to 8k RPM, which I'm sure would necessitate the larger 45s...
Any info/previous experiences would be brilliant.
Cheers lee.
