Hi, can any one please tell me if the heater box for a mk2 escort, as i have one fitted in my rickman, has a plaice where any water gets in can drain out, the top air vent is in the bonnet faceing up , but when we have rain( which seem,s like most day,s ) the carpets on the n/side get wet, when pulling off the outher day it was like a tape had been turned on, it seemed to be comming from inside the heater box, next on the list will be a scoop to cover the vent, john

I think the vent under the bonnet is a Rickman part. While I had the cylinder head off mine I did notice drain holes in the bottom of the intake box. Might be worth checking that the drains are clear - it's not a problem I've had at all, and it's unmodified, so it is possible. Mine leaks through the windscreen seal instead...

I think the door seals on mine are fubared and that's where the water's getting in on mine because when I stripped my heater a few years ago there was no water in it.
I used a tank cutter to put a hole in the passenger side footwell, problem solved. ;D

Cannabalised the door seals off a Sierra mk II for my Rickman doors. Need to give the doors a good slam now but it does make a better seal.
