More retro machines seen out and about in my second-home town of Loughborough. Some of these cars are reposts from other threads, but I don't care . First up, a brace of aricooled VWs.... .....followed by a very special watercooled VW. Yes, it's a genuine Rallye: Non-turbo Fuego (how the hell d'ya pronounce that?). How many of these can there be left in the UK now? Not many I expect: Just a nice old Saab: This was identified by the peeps of RR as an AMC Rambler Rogue convertible: Some nice old Beemers, and oddly, an Evo: A wind-battered Froggy Sprite: Where there are students, there are Minis. Where there are Minis, there is retro cool. Where there is retro cool, there is Samage. And where there is Samage, there is hopelessly off-centre photography: And finally, a lowered Merc wagon on wide wheels: ;D

I keep meaning to go have a better look at those e21 Beemers as my Missus lived just on the corner there. There was a black one in the drive last year with sweet colour matched black centred BBS's. I'm sure I've seen other retro fodder on that driveway too. You mentioned Loughborough being your 2nd home, does that mean you're a current student? Keep your eye for a G-reg green 318i this weekend as it maybe me

There is a collection of MK2's on my way to work and it includes a Rallye. Must stop and get a pic at some point but I am always running late.

I've seen that lowered Merc about a few times. Same place I've seen it parked up there used to be a Mk5 Cortina on huuuuge rims, sort of like a mini-donk box.

I'm a current student next year, I'm on placement currently. Is the motor club worth joining?
EDIT: You have seemed to answer my question as I wrote it!

I almost joined the LSUMC, going as far to sign up to the forums under the name "VWSam" - however, I decided against it after checking out the other rides - all rather fast Audis, Porker 924s, retros with interesting engine transplants etc etc. Decided my 44bhp-of-fury Beetle may be just a tiny bit outgunned, like taking a knife to a gunfight!

To be honest, he would be the only reason why I didn't join the club! That gimp has proper issues.
Cheers for the info!
